Speaker 1 (00:00):
You're on with Mario a Littlepez. It's up your all.
Mario Lopez joining me right now on Zoom Hotline. Actor
Oliver Hudson, how are you, man? I'm good man. Just
in a cabin in Colorado with a big as beard
and long hair that that looks very cabin like. What
part of Colorado aspen? Basically, I like forty minutes outside. Yeah,

(00:20):
we've had we've had a ranch here for thirty plus
years and second home stuff. You know, we're here for
the holidays. Awesome good fishing out there, because I remember
seeing those pictures of you you like some deep sea
fish in which I love. Oh dude, yeah, yeah, for sure.
I just actually got back from San Diego boat out
of San Diego, out in Mexico. We were at Guadalupe
Island and Coton big as tuna. Wait a minute, so

(00:42):
you're able to fish there, Oliver. I went um diving
with the Great Whites in Walla Loupe Island right there,
Lucky bastard. It was I want to do that. It
was incredible when I was there. So I was there
for like four days and I couldn't get over the
size of the tuna that was there. But they wouldn't.
Would you go on the dive boat? They don't to fish?
I was like so pissed about. I was like, oh

(01:03):
my god, look at all that great So you went.
It must have been like they must let you go
on a certain side or something that must have you must. Yes,
we had to stop at Encinata, you know, clear and
then we have permits that we pay you to pay
seven hundred bucks per person, and then these boats were
able to go out there. So there is a protocol,
you know. But it was By the way, dude, how

(01:26):
amazing is that island? Unbelievable, credible, unbelievable, number one place
to see great whites? Now too, by the way, did
you see anyone were winter? You know, December, I was there.
They migrate, they're gone. Um. Summer is when you go
fish in the summer, you're losing one out of every
three fish to the white sharks and they are chomping

(01:47):
right at the boat, you know. But winter, we didn't
see any of There was one one shark took a fish.
That was it. But just an abundance of tuna. Yeah,
it was good, it was really good. And they were
all pound fish. Oh my god, I'm gonna have to quality.
I'm gonna have to hit you up with the ask
for that outfit if you don't mind after this, because

(02:08):
I'd love to to do that trip. Whoever set you
do that it's the best I've been doing it for
twenty years. I mean, it's it's like a true passion
of mind. Oh no, I know. That's why I love
it too, So that's cool. I love that about you. Man.
Um is that what you did over the holidays? Or
were you um fish and then came right to Colorado,
you know, and then this family was here Christmas, you know, Kate, Ronnie, Danny,

(02:32):
my mom, Kurt, everyone, you know, this is where we
all celebrate and Christmas is is a really important tradition.
I mean it's been ongoing for a long long time.
Santa Claus really exists. I mean, Kurt did play Santa
in the Netflix click, you know. But it's it's a
it's a heavy holiday for us, for sure. It's real.

(02:52):
I'll believe my kids see that may be on loop
one end too, and it's it's there by the way.
It's great for the it's great for the adults. Right now.
You do you do a lot of skin when you're
up there. Yeah, man, yeah, I mean it was. It
was a blizzard for seven days. Didn't see the sun
for seven days, so it finally cleared up in the snow.
Is just it's epic. It's on another level. I mean,
it's crazy. My kids, My kids are out there right now,

(03:16):
and I'm having to do press for the show, and
I'm like, you past, okay, then we'll get we'll get
to I I We're gonna go catch a fewer own
right speak. Speaking of the show, more congratulations. It is
out on Fox. It's called A Cleaning Lady. It looks
pretty wild. What's the premise exactly? Yeah, it's cool, man,
it's different, you know. I mean it takes place in Vegas.

(03:39):
It's about this Kimbodian woman who's looking at the Philippines
who comes to the United States under medical visa to
to save her son's life bone marrow transplant donor backs out.
She decides to stay now, she's undocumented and witnesses a
murder from the mob. She's a cleaning lady to make
ends meet, and they're gonna kill her, and she says,

(04:00):
please wait, I can help you. I can clean for you,
I can clean up your messes. She's actually a prominent
doctor in the Philippines, so she knows her way around.
And these mobsters, this one in particular, starts helping her out.
She gets a little too deep, they keep helping her son,
So now she's locked in. And I'm Garrett Miller. I

(04:20):
play an FBI guy who then turns her as an informant.
But she's sort of playing both sides, you know. And
it's it's the theme of sort of how far would
you go to save your kids? And you've got you've
got kids, dude, you know, I mean, I'd go to
jail for my kids. Yeah, it doesn't matter to me,
you know what I mean. That's it, you know. So
it's it's an interesting conversation piece, you know. Um, absolutely,

(04:42):
And I love the premise, very very rich. Who are
you willing to hurt? Yeah, it's it's it's cool. It's cool,
you know. And I'm the token white guy, which i'd love,
you know what I mean, the only white dude, And
and it's it's awesome, and it's it's it's a it's
a real look at different cultures. It's a look at immigration,
it's you know, it's dealing with sort of just getting

(05:03):
into some of the facts. You know, there's been a
lot of research that's been done by the creators. Um,
so we're trying to sort of stay true to what
the system, how the system actually works. But you're not
hammered over the head with it. You know. It's a
real it's a it's a real story. Um. But that
is the backdrop, you know. That's awesome. What do you
guys shoot the show in Albuquerque? Oh, Alberqueque right there? Okay, Yeah,

(05:27):
a lot of green chili, good green chili. I bought
everything is green chili. It's green chili, ice cream, green chili,
every frog exactly. Yeah, dude, it's it's it's everything. But
Albuquerque is cool, dude. In New Mexico is I think
a really like a forgotten state. It is beautiful and

(05:48):
the colors are beautiful, and it's just it's an amazing spot.
I really did in New Mexico. I've just been a
lot of time there. I've shot a Christmas film called
Holiday in Santa Fe. I was in Santa Fe, New Message. Yeah.
The Santa Fe is awesome. About two homes in Albuquerque?

(06:09):
Oh is that right? When I was there? Okay? Yeah,
because it's just blowing up like the movie and just
a lot of productionwing up there. So I'm like, all right,
well let's yeah, yeah, a lot of production and it's
a quick little flight. It's not it's not too far
at all. Um. I know while BACKU that it's easy.
A show called The Three of Us with Malin Ackerman.

(06:29):
What happened with that project? Did that not go anywhere?
That that didn't make it? We thought we thought it
was going to go down. It was a really fun show.
It was a sitcom. Family's got siblings, my son who
wants to be an actor, but it's not pursuing it
in any way. He tested for the audition and tested
and went studio, went network, and I get a call

(06:50):
on the golf course and I gotta call it. So
Bodi got the job. I'm like, are you kidding me
right now? I mean so, even though it didn't go
it was a really special nine days, you know, because
I was working with my son. He was a crazy professional.
It was like he's been doing it all his life,
and uh it was, you know, weepy dude. I was

(07:10):
like behind the monitors watching him, like, oh my god.
I couldn't believe what was going on. So it was
it was a dope show. It's really cute. And then
it just you know, I didn't go. And you know
how that of course of course, um let me ask you,
you know, with your kids and knowing how this business
is obviously, and I guess it's it's different because now
it's it's um generational. Did you try to encourage them

(07:34):
or discourage them from the business or just kind of
not mentioned anything because I didn't mention anything. I think
because I do it, and and and and Aaron, my
wife was an actress, not anymore. And their grandparents and
their aunts, I mean, and their and their uncle Wyatt.
I mean, everyone is doing it's just they don't have
a chance. They've got no shots. It's like the first

(07:56):
they're gonna do. You know, yeah, they're cursed. I mean
real my daughter, there is absolutely no question. She's just
come out that way. Uh. List Wilder, he's a little
bit more introspective, you know, he says he wants to
do it, but we'll see. And then I met at
one Bodie. It's just sort of this natural um. But
it's a great question. I think it depends on the kid. Bodie.

(08:19):
I felt could handle it. I had to talk to
my wife and say, should we really allow this? You
know what I mean? But he's got such a good
head on his shoulders. I don't see it going south.
Rio my daughter that can go south, you know what
I mean. It's like she's so all about it, like
I'm gonna you can do plays, you can do be
high school plays. And when you're eighteen years old, you know,

(08:40):
we can start auditioning, you know what I mean. Yeah,
so I think it varies from kid to kid. Yeah, yeah,
thanks for sharing that, um Oliver. You also recently jumped
into some voice acting in the comic book Universe, right,
the DC movie and Justice is Plastic Man. I love
Plastic Man has other than than does he have any
other powers other than stretching for night? He just stretches. Yeah,

(09:05):
he's just stretches. Okay, It's very limber, you know, he's
the superpowers. He's just you know, he does a lot
of yoga. It's extremely limber. That's great. That was fun.
Though I've never done a voice over. I've never been
a voiceover. What's fun? And you forget about it? I
don't know if you've you know if you've done them before,
but you know, two years ago by and all of
a sudden they're like, oh what what what? What is this?

(09:26):
What did I do? Because put together? Yeah, oh yeah,
but it was it was a blast. I mean, that's
something that would be fun to get into on a
regular basis, for sure. Absolutely well. Meanwhile, please be sure
to catch Oliver in the new series The Cleaning Lady
that those happened Monday nights. That goes down Monday nights

(09:47):
on Fox. Let me get that clean for you. Our time.
Here we go. Meanwhile, please be sure to catch Oliver
in the new series The Cleaning Lady Monday nights on Fox.
