We have a legal decision on sanctuary cities, and it's
a good one. The three judge panels Second Circuit Court
of Appeals unanimously overturned a district court judge who ruled
the Trump administration could not withhold grants from sanctuary cities.
That was part of the anti Trump resistance movement among
the judiciary. In seventeen, then Attorney General Jeff Sessions announced

that the Department of Justice was going to withhold grant
money from states who defied federal immigration law by granting
sanctuary illegals. Well, it didn't take long for the resistance
to act. Seven states New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, Virginia,
New Jersey, Rhode Island, Massachusetts, Washington State ran the federal
court and sued, and, as so often happens, coincidentally, the

resistant states found a friendly resistance district judge to go
along with them. Trump administration appealed. So now finally we've
gotten a common sense ruling from the appellate court. They
ruled that, of course, the federal government can withhold grant
money from states who break federal laws. A no brainer. Now,
this will probably end up at the Supreme Court because
