Yeah, ripped up you need soyou don't have come running shoes as as
can. Shooter's gonna help come ManDix is the Troubleshooter Show. No Tom

(00:23):
Martine. Hey, I'm Tom Martino, and I welcome you to the only
show that's kind anywhere in the universe. We are, by the way,
here to help you solve problems, answer questions, take complaints, make your
life a little easier. I encouragepeople to call when problems start. All
right, in the beginning today's CarDay, I got Uncle Kevin in the
home studio. We didn't go tothe mothership today. Marcus Usann are off

(00:46):
and then the other car guys areoff. So it's Kevin and me.
So this is where we will beenjoying the pizza. And by the way,
Car Day is not just about cars, but we do talk about cars,
and we kind of concentrate them todayand Kevin, anything new in the

(01:07):
car biz. No, right, moving along now. I hate bringing this
up because it's just gonna piss meoff, and like, like it reminds
me of the movies where they say, oh honey, now your blood pressure,
you know, like you better watchout. Years this happened to come
up yesterday and I started reading aboutit and looking on YouTube and finding these

(01:29):
fake testimonials. And it's the guythat used to be in Denver. I
drove him out of Colorado. Iliterally drove him out of Colorado with all
my negative, negative stories. Bythe way, they didn't start out to
be negative. They started out tobe stories. They're negative because this Rocky
Mountain Radar as it was called whenhe was here. I don't know where

(01:51):
he moved, but Rocky Mountain Radarhe markets now that it's called the Odin
od I, and he claims nowhe used to make his own, but
now he claims the Odin. Maybehe makes that, I don't know.
He claims that it has long rangedetection and scrambling technology. He claims it

(02:15):
cannot only detect radar and laser. Both these are right off the website Rockymountain
Radar dot com. He claims thatit will scramble lasers and it will scramble
radar. Now, technology to scrambleradar and laser based on the military specs

(02:39):
I know and the aviation specs Iknow, is an astronomically expensive technology and
cannot be contained in that little thingon the dash. We tested this years
and years ago and found not onlydid it did not scramble, it did

(02:59):
nothing. It was like putting adog turn on your dash. It did
nothing. Okay, now this onemight detect you know, detectors are not
new radar detectors. Blah blah blah. However, it does not scramble it
and he claims it scrambles it toan unreadable thing so you can't get a

(03:22):
ticket. And they say they're goingto never get a speeding ticket. Anyway,
here's the bottom line. I didn'ttest this one, but I'm going
to. I'm going to literally getone and test it. But I am
almost positive at this point. Iswear to God, I am positive it's
BS. And in fact, I'lleven put a challenge out to the owner.

(03:43):
I ran him out of town.He knows who I am. He's
on YouTube, the lies that hespreads about Rocky Mountain radar and Odin O
d N. If you guys geta chance, my YouTube morons, my
Facebook flunkies, my uh I heartdownloaders, my people who just listen live.

(04:03):
I don't know why I'm giving itpublicity, because I'll tell you why.
Because there are people buying it.Now, let me tell you why
he found the perfect crime in myopinion, because he's a fraudster, he's
a liar, he's a cheater.Do you know why. I talked to

(04:24):
the Attorney General when he was inColorado. I talked to the district attorneys.
I talked to the Federal Trade Commission. Kevin, why do you feel
he's getting away with him? Wouldyour what would your guest be, Kevin?
Well, it's kind of hard toprove, isn't it, whether it
scrambles or not. Well, okay, bottom line is I proved to them

(04:47):
and they admitted not Rocky Mound radar. But the authorities admitted it did not
work and that he was committing fraud. They admitted that. They said they'd
have a case. Why didn't theygo out Not sir ah, I'm going
to tell you why they didn't goafter him because the victims are not sympathetic

(05:10):
to them. Because they said, these people are trying to get around the
law anyway, so they did notfeel sorry for the victims. They said,
these victims are trying to break thelaw. They want to speed.
So the authorities were not anxious tonot anxious to do this to take this

(05:35):
guy on because they did not sympathizewith the victims. It was almost the
attitude it serves them right, Itserves them right. So I want to
test this again, and I amthinking, I don't know how many he's

(05:57):
selling. I don't know what he'sdoing, but I'd like to get him
off the market because no matter whobuys this for three ninety nine, they're
throwing money away, and I thinkis wrong. Now, I can't say
so much for the detection. Idon't know how much radar detectors costs.
I mean, that's not a hardthing to do to get a radar detector.

(06:18):
But I want to know what peoplethink about this. Does it bother
you that this guy? I mean, I'm sure there are so many products
like this on the market that justdon't work. He out and out lies,
i mean, lies on YouTube aboutthis product. So I'm going to

(06:39):
order one. I'm going to goout and test it. Then I'm going
to try maybe even though I don'twant to spend a lot of money because
there's not a lot of victims.I don't know if I'll get an attorney,
but I want to do a classaction. What I'd like to do
is sue on behalf of anyone whoever bought one. But I think it'll
just put him out of business. But that'll be good enough. If I

(07:00):
can engineer this. I would liketo do this. And I'm telling you
straight up front. If I testit and by some miracle he has found
how to take a multimillion dollar technologyand put it down into a little box
you can put on your dash, then he should, by the way,
sell it to the military, andhe should, you know, and I'll

(07:25):
tell you if it works. ButI'm gonna do it. Now. Let
me go to the phones. Randycalled toward the end of the show,
I believe or on the show yesterdayabout Aquaspase. Now, Aquaspase is a
SPA dealer. I want full disclosurehere. I used to endorse Aquaspas.

(07:45):
Geez, maybe thirty years ago, twenty five, maybe twenty, I don't
know. No, it was morethan twenty years ago. I believe it
was more than twenty years ago.Aqua Spase. I used to endorse them
on the show, Randy, andreally yep. Then I stopped because they
were doing some things that I feltwas shady. Okay, two things.

(08:13):
One was they were offering a onehundred percent rebate one hundred percent on your
purchase price. You would buy thetub, you'd get a voucher and in
so many years you would redeem thatvoucher for one hundred percent of the purchase

(08:35):
price. Now, they made itso you had to do it in a
certain timeframe, and you had youknow, proof of purchase, this and
that, and and it sounded like, well, not eight out of ten
people will never do it, Butwhat about the people that do. They
claim they had a company it wasout of England that backed them up and

(08:56):
was doing this all over the world, all over the country on jewelry,
on appliances, on hot tubs. And I talked to the guy and he
swore to God, yep, it'sgoing to happen. So Aquaspase signed up
for this program, and then Ijust started doing the math because Aqua Spase

(09:24):
would pay him a portion of everysale, and then he was supposedly going
to put that money away and somehowhave money to rebate. It did not
work. The company caved. Itwas a disaster that was Aquaspase. Aquaspase
also wanted me to do a commercialabout the stock show. They rented a

(09:46):
place, and I think it wasup there they were doing. They wanted
me to advertise that they were goingto be at a big or no,
that there was going to be abig spa show, okay, with all
these different spas and everything with greatprices, come and see spas one stop
shopping. Except it was only Aquaspas in the show. There was no

(10:11):
one else. So it was theirshow, but they made it sound like
it was going to be. Itwas one of these shows where trade shows,
where a lot of people are gonnabe there, You're gonna get variety,
you're gonna see all kinds, andit was just them selling them.
So I thought that was disingenuous.Let's put it this way. I got
a bad taste in my mouth aboutAquaspase, but I'll be honest here,

(10:33):
never ever heard a problem about Aquaspaseprobably twenty years or more. I mean,
in fact, I never heard acomplain about Aquaspause. When I was
endorsing them, I decided not todo it anymore based on those factors.
But I actually never got complaints aboutthem. Okay, I'll have to be
totally straight here, never got reallycomplaints about them. And then this complaint

(10:56):
came yesterday, and the complaint isyou simply bought a hot tub in advance
for a home, and you puta back door in there in case you
couldn't finish the home or something, right, Randy, go ahead, yes,

(11:22):
sir, oh yeah. So youknow, me and my wife,
we were in the middle of buyinga house. We're real close to it.
Wasn't sure if we're going to beapproved or not. So I said,
you know, this is fully refundable. He was yeah, yeah.
I said, well, come weput it in there. If I don't
close in my house by such andsuch an eight. You picked the date.
I said, it should be withina couple of weeks, you know,
He said, yeah, sure.We were there November sixth, he

(11:45):
wrote, November. If it doesn'tclose by November twenty sixth or twenty eighth,
twenty sixthy thing was twenty eighth,November twenty eighth, full refund.
We had not closed on the houseuntil January. I had to I had
to put so you didn't. Sohow much did you put down on this?
Two thousand dollars? And okay,so you put down two grand with

(12:09):
a back door on that and heand it was signed by that guy who
sold it to you. Yeah,And I've talked to him and he said
it's completely out of line that Mattwon't give us the money bag. But
he I'm just an employee. Brother. I can't believe it. And did
he? But but here this isreally important, not important to you,
but important to Aquaspase. I'm suredid Matt have not? Matt? Who

(12:33):
was the guy you worked with?Aaron? He's the one that put that
on there, not the manager, not the ownership. Right, he was
the manager. He was the onlyone at the store. Oh oh,
are you sure he was the storemanager? He said he was in charge
of charge. Okay, he wrotein a special clause, right, yes,

(13:01):
okay, Thus I think you guyshave no I do. I saw
it. But here's the point.I want people listening to know this.
The point is he wrote in aspecial clause, and it said that if
you didn't build by a certain timeor finish, you get your money back.
And the bottom line is Aquaspase isnot honoring it. I don't see

(13:22):
there's a way you can. Markmust have told you this when you called
Jesiny. Did he suggest you goto small claims court like this? Said?
No, we are. We're gonnatalk about it, but Katchina got
an interesting reaction when she called overthere. We'll talk about that and more
coming up three oh three seven onethree talk. I'm gonna get all of

(13:45):
your calls as well. Hang on, we're gonna we're gonna talk about this.

(14:39):
com to list your home with RemaxAlliance three all three nine two zero sixteen
twenty two. Hi Tom Martino, you're troubleshooter three oh three seven one three
talk seven one three two five five. So this guy goes to Aquasphaspus two
th thousand dollars down. Aquaspa's manager, Aaron rights in there. He can

(15:05):
get his money back if his houseisn't done by a certain time, because
he didn't want to wait. Youknow, Uncle Kevin over here had a
good well, Randy, why didyou even do that like that? Why
didn't you just wait till your housewas done? We're curious. We're just
you know, walking walking to themall and seen it. We had one
of our house that we were sellingand just impulse. Kay and Kelly,

(15:30):
you called out there? Did youtalk to Aaron? Who'd you talk to?
So I left a message for Aaron. I talked to a gentleman who
would not identify himself. He didnot give me his name or anything like
that. But basically, did hecalled back or did you talk to him
when you called? I talked tohim when he called or when I called,
And he was from the get govery irate and wasn't the most forthcoming

(16:00):
with information, but he did indicatethat this had already been settled quote unquote,
and I use how did he sayit was settled? He said that
Randy has already been in touch withour attorney. And so then I asked,
who is your attorney? And hewhy would they have to go to
court over this if he wrote inthere, I'll give you a refund.

(16:21):
Well, because I guess the ownerdid not give Randy the money back.
They did not honor the contract. And so the gentleman I chat to said
that they always honor their contracts. And you don't know what you're talking about,
girl. That was one of thethings that were that way. I
mean, we'd be happy to hearwhat they mean by that. Maybe maybe

(16:44):
they'll claim that Randy wrote it inhimself, or maybe he'll well. The
funny part is that he hung upon me. So I called him back
and on the second time, becauseat the end of the conversation he said,
never call this number. Of thefirst conversation, he said, never
call this number again. So Icalled him back and I recommend I also

(17:06):
recommend that no one ever calls thatnumber, and no one uses these people
if they're going to be this way, right, okay, right, And
then it got a little bit morecontentious in that he said I didn't know
what I was talking about. Hetold me to stfu if that is any

(17:29):
indication he didn't spell it out.And uh so I was a little taken
aback by that. What a professionalmanner this guy day. And so then
he dropped the bomb that he suedyou. Oh really, yes, sued
me? Yes? Well, firstof all, let me just say this.
Let me just say this. Idon't recall ever being sued by anybody

(17:51):
up at Aquaspas or did he meanhe personally sued me? I believe he
mentioned the company sued you. Well, that's not right because we just parted
company. But uh here's here's whatI do want to say, had they
sued me. Now, I'm tellingyou, I'm seventy, I kind of
remember a lot, but I don'tever recall. No, I'm just going
to say I wasn't sued by them, because here's but here's what I do

(18:12):
want to say. If they didsue me, they lost because I've never
lost a case, right, Soright, Well, okay, so that
means I beat them. What heis saying is I beat them in a
lawsuit, is what he's saying.Well, but I don't remember beating them
in a lawsuit. Well, thesecond phone call. The second phone call

(18:33):
ended with him saying, if youdo not stop calling this number, I'm
going to get the sharemer sheriff fromLarimer County on to literally come and you
know, serve you for harassment. And by the way, I don't mind
not calling them. In fact,I think consumers should never call them.

(18:55):
And it's okay. What he issaying is he does not want to honor
the contract, nor does he wantto talk on the air about anything.
Bottom line, that's what you said. Yes, and he told me that
I didn't know anything about it andthat I should stop calling him immediately or
he was going to bring harassment claim. Now, I don't see any recent

(19:18):
documents filed. Well, let's see, okay, I do see this Articles
of Organization back that was in twentytwenty three. Was the the latest document
I see here on the Secretary ofState. I just want to see who
the registered agent is. I seeVint Davis. Well, I see a
Kevin Quintero Aqua Space. Oh no, I'm sorry, that's Aqua Spa CE

(19:45):
pools. I don't know if that'sthem. Honest to god, I can't
tell what I'm looking at here AquaSpase. Is it Aqua Spa aqua pools
and spas? Or or is itAquaspas inc? Is it? I think
it's Aquaspase Incs. But I'm notsure actually, to be honest with you,

(20:06):
here, yeah, there's a MatthewDavis. This is in Fort Collins.
Is that who it is? Youthink? I think yes, yes,
yes, is Matthew the one thatsaid he sued me to think.
Is that who you talk to?Or? You know? He would not
indicate what his name was. Hewould not tell me what his name was.
He would not tell me who isWhat number did you call? I

(20:26):
want to make sure that I gotthe right one here? What number did
you call? I called the FortCollins number, which is nine seven zero
two two six three three five three. Okay, I don't think anyone should
call that number Aquaspase basically sucks. They're going on the Sleeves Brigade because we
have a breach of contract, justblatant and okay, let me just mark

(20:48):
this for Sleaves Brigade people. Youknow what, we have plenty of good
SPA companies around. In fact,I don't know why he just wouldn't go
to Costco and get one. Nay, Randy, I don't understand you know
spas or not magic. No.And just so you know what he called
me yesterday after the show. Ohwhat did he say? Well? I

(21:10):
think he called me like four timesand I finally called back and said,
Hey, who is this? Shesaid, I'm just my lawyer. Just
wanted me to know. Let youknow that we're following bringing paperwork up against
you and gonna for what for? What? I mean, if you're lying.
Listen, if you're lying, youshould be sued. But you showed
us a document signed, You showedus that you put money down. I

(21:33):
mean, what part of this isnot true? And then my opinion is
they suck? Well, okay, let me just address it their attorney.
Mister attorney. Now listen. I'msure you're proud that you're an attorney.
You went to school and all that, and you want to show you got
balls and you want to or whateveryou got nerve. If you're a female
attorney, you want to show thatyou can do something for your client.
But I also think you're going totell your clients some realistic crap here,

(21:56):
First and foremost, what is hegoing to sue for an opinion that Tom
Martino has that this sucks? Orwhat about this a customer who's telling the
truth about the transaction? Or whatabout this the fact that we called your
client and begged them to give theirside of the story, even off the
air. They can do it.So which part of this do you feel

(22:19):
as actionable, mister attorney. Idon't think you do. And I think
that you have, of course aresponsibility to tell your client that. And
mister whoever you are at spabrokers whothink you sued me, But I don't
recall beating you. And of courseI beat everyone, never lost look me
up on Lexus and Nexus or anywhereelse, never lost a lawsuit. So,

(22:41):
in fact, got attorneys fees agood part of the time for what
we call anti slap laws. Antislap means when you go after someone for
their opinion or for expressing something, and all of that, then there are
attorneys fees usually granted. So Idon't want to get into all this.
Your attorney can explain that to youwhen you calm down. But if you

(23:04):
look at this for what It ispure and simple. It's a contract.
The guy paid money with a writtenclause that he can get it back.
Now, maybe you want to tellme this guy Aaron who did that was
fired and wasn't wasn't I authorized todo it? And if you do tell

(23:26):
me that, then you'd have tohave a problem when he sues you in
small claim court to show why youhave negligently, negligently and trusted that manager
with certain authority or at least youknow, an impression of authority for customers.
I don't know any of this becauseI'm not going to have to fight

(23:47):
this. I'll just give it tomy attorney. But here's what I'd like
to tell you, mister spabrokers andmister attorney or missus attorney, bring it
pre oh three seven one three talksseven one three eight two five five people.

(24:08):
Randy, you got to start thissmall claim. I don't see how
you lose, do you. Idon't see how you lose unless you're lying,
And if you're lying, I'll helpthem sue you. But I don't
think you're lying. Yeah, Ishould lose, Randy. I don't know
many why this is happening, butone thing for sure, you shouldn't have
done the deal at all. Imean you should have just waited for goodness.

(24:32):
Sure is a good lesson learned, that's for sure. Okay, So
Spas and I want to tell peoplespob I would not use Aqua Spas at
all. I would not use them, but not a good deal. That's
my opinion. That's my opinion. So Aquaspas and and we called nine seven

(24:52):
zero two two six thirty three fiftythree. And I don't want anyone calling
there because the guy doesn't want phonecalls. And besides, I wouldn't call
there anyway, because you don't wantthat company. If you're looking for a
hot tub, you at Costco.Hey, you know, we have a
local company here. I think they'restill around. Spa Brokers, good company.
They've been around for years in Denver, for years. In fact,
I used to endorse them too, years and years and years and years and

(25:15):
years. Uh, Spa Brokers, that's probably where I would go. Three
oh three seven to one three talkseven one three eight two five five.
Okay, So you hurt my opinion. And of course that is my opinion,
which of course is free to expressin this country. Because you know,
they haven't completely shut us down.More coming up. Go with a

(26:30):
continue here and again, I'm reallysorry that happened with Aquaspas, but people
learn your lesson. They will nothonor all contracts apparently, and that's Aquaspas
up north there. I don't knowif they have any in the Denver Metrrie,
but I recommend SPA brokers. Irecommend Costco for goodness sakes, or

(26:53):
just about anywhere. I'd rather justgo to a place that I know the
contract actually be honored. That's myopinion. Com what's going on? Man?
You got a twenty eighteen Ford andis it a Ford Escort sport?
That's correct? Yes, so huhokay, we got Uncle Kevin with us

(27:15):
to listen to you. So what'sgoing on? Yes, this only happens
when I gas up and try tostart the car and ind case, the
battery light like a dead battery. And only when you start up in the
like the first start of the day. No, no, only from the
gas station, sitting at the gaspumps. It's really weird and I can

(27:37):
barely get it started. Only wait, this is after you fill up.
Yeah. Yeah, and once onceI get I can barely get a crank,
you know. And then then afterthat it's okay. I can turn
it on and off everywhere. Waita minute, what is it about pumping
gas that would cause that to happen? Kevin? That just doesn't even now
when you say you okay, youturn it off, you pump the gas.

(28:00):
As soon as your gas is pumped, you go to start it,
and it doesn't crank, or itcranks but won't start. It has a
show the red light or dead batterycomes on, and I could just turn
it over enough to get going, you know, and then after that,
and it never happens anywhere else. That's correct. If you went to the
gas station and turned it off andpretended to pump gas, not just no,

(28:26):
I would be so curious as towhy the hell and does it happen
at every gas station? I alwaysgo to Costco the same exact place,
Yeah, over on Westminster here, and I just can't kid to me,
that is like a there's no rhymeor reason for that one. I mean,
I'd like someone listening to tell mewhy the hell that's it. It's

(28:47):
got to be some sort of avapor, some sort of a mission.
Yeah, but okay, can youdo us a favor? I mean,
ron it never you never get thatred light, and it never happens except
at that Costco. Yeah. Nowthe red battery light comes on, you
know, well, what do youmean it comes on every time you started?

(29:07):
No, the warning light for thedead battery. It shows the red
battery light only when you're at thatCostco. That's correct. Does it run
rough once you get it started ordoes it run normal? It runs normal,
celerates good. And when you goto start, I'm going to ask
this again, and you're at theCostco. You just pumped gas and you
go to start it and that redlight's on. Does it crank reluctantly?

(29:32):
Light or does it crank but notstart just like you said reluctantly? Okay,
okay, Kevin, that mate?I mean, what would zapp is
power only at that Costco? Igot nothing. I'm totally stunning. Okay,
hold on a second. What aboutthis if you went to that Costco

(29:53):
and turned it off but not pumpedgas and then tried to start it.
I really mean that. I liketo know. Or if you go to
another gas station, are you yougot it? You gotta call us back?
Do you need gas today? No? I got a full tank yesterday,
damn it. And it happened yesterday. That's correct. Yeah? How

(30:15):
far from that Costco? Oh?I'm real close? Like Ken blocks five?
Or could you, honest to god, could you go there, pull
up to turn it off, doeverything you would except don't buy gas?
I just is it because buying thatgas can't possibly be the factor. There's

(30:37):
something there interfering. Could there bean EMF? I don't know? I
mean, am I sounding stupid?I mean? Is there an EMF?
Signal there interfering with his truck orhis computer? Could it be I don't
know, you know, that's thethought. I should go to a different
gays. I gotta take it.Listen, whatever you do, please let
us know. Please, because wehave nothing, and I'm going to ask

one hundred and twenty thousand miles. How long have you owned it? Well,

(32:08):
I owned it for over ten years. Okay, did it suddenly start
tell your story? What's going onwith it? Well, okay, this
is just a spare car that Iuse and I'm not driving my kids around,
and I've had an overheating issue forquite some time, and I just
got a new radiator for it,and so everything works fine, except that

(32:32):
it seems like every time that Iuse the air conditioner, the hose pops
off and then my car overheats. So I just wanted to see ask you
and uncle Kevin before my husband startstearing the car apart, if you have
any suggestions on what what where? The pressure issue is that the hose,

(32:54):
the hose is popping off the radiatoror popping off the engine the upper radiator
hole, right, Why is that? Ken? Well, I mean it
should have a little coupler so thatit can hold the clamp, but the
radiator may have not. Maybe itdoes, and it's tight. It's tight,
but I'm saying, is is itpopping off on the radiator side or

(33:17):
the engine side? It's popping offfrom the like, not the engine side
the radiator side. So where it'sconnected to the radiator, even though there's
a clamp on there, it popsoff. There should be a little collar

(33:39):
around that so when you put thehose on, the clamp has something to
grab. It's a little bit largeron the outside, like a lip yep,
like a belt, But yeah itis, and it's on there.

Duran, the real estate Man dotcom three oh three nine to zero,
sixteen twenty two. I want togive a couple updates. This is very

(35:28):
important. The other day I hadon Retirement Planning Center of the Rockies.
We were talking about changes in thestate law. This brook from a Red
Rocks RS that I heard I hadto provide four one k's for my people
and he said he didn't hear, but he said he didn't think. So
it does turn out that Colorado doeshave a special provision where you have to

(35:49):
provide a four oh one k toyour people if you have more than Kevin.
Do you know about it because you'reyou're an employer. Yeah, but
it's not a four one K.But it's some sort of have you have
to do it retirement. You don'thave to contribute to it, though,
no, you could, but youhave to provide it for them to contribute,
or you have to opt into thisnew state program that they're putting together
where they're gonna Okay, what isthe number of employees that are five or

(36:10):
more five or more six or something? Okay? So yes, so we
aired in that you must have aretirement plan if you have more than five
employees. You don't have to contributeto it, but you must have it
set up. Okay. On thatone And on the other one, I
talked about aquaspase, you know, and threatening or they said they sued me,
and they never sued me, bythe way, and if they did,

(36:32):
they lost. I've never lost alawsuit ever. Just I'm proud of
that because people usually sue out ofanger, not out of intelligence. In
any case, I said that I'vewon many times on what's called anti slap
legislation. And by the way, give credit where credits due. It came
from Democrats. Anti slap legislation yearsago. States adopted Many states adopted this

(36:57):
legislation, and even in the Statesthat haven't adopted it. People have used
the court precedence to say you can'tjust sue someone because you're angry, and
that's really here's what it says, strategic lawsuits against public participation. That's what
slap stands for. What it meansis this, you can't use lawsuits as

(37:21):
an intimidation like that guy called thatguy and said, I'm gonna sue the
pants off of you, blah blahblah. You can't do that because that's
well, you can do it,but you're going to be slapped for it.
It's it's a it's an intimidation lawsuit. It's strategic litigation designed to censor,
intimidate, or silence critics by theby burdening them with the cost of

(37:46):
legal defense until they abandon their cause. Now, that truly is what's called
a slap lawsuit. And then thereare anti slap measures that allow people to
defy themselves and get money back forit from the offending party. So I
just want you to know that, and perhaps Aquaspas should run that by their

(38:08):
attorney as well. Aquaspas we weretalking about, because they wouldn't honor a
contract for a consumer and they won'tcome on, they won't talk about it.
Basically, they suck. Let's talknow about Katie and the overheating issue.
Katie, you say your two thousandand five Dodge Magnum over one hundred
thousand miles, you overheat, andwhen you overheat, you don't overheat necessarily.

(38:34):
When it warms up, it popsthe radiator host pops off. Now,
Kevin mentioned a few things. Letme go ahead. No, go
ahead, Katie, I'm sure Iwas just gonna say that when I got
to I take good care of thiscar. I know it's old, but
when I did get the radiator replaced, I also got a new fan and

(38:57):
a new thermostat, and the carruns great except when the homes doesn't pop
off all the time. It onlyactually pops off when I'm using the air
conditioner. And it's double clamped too, so it's not like the issue that
it's popping off all the time. No, what he said is, especially

(39:17):
when you said you replace the radiator. He said, sometimes radiators come for
some reason with that hose receiver whereyou put the hose over it. That
receiver doesn't have the berbal on theend of it to grab that clamp he
said, sometimes they just don't haveit on there and they slip and slide
off. That's one thing. Healso said, if you have a head

(39:42):
gasket problem, go ahead, wet. It could materialize as you put it
under strain and heat. So inother words, when the head gasket separates
the cooling from the oil system andthe compression I mean, and Kevin explained
that the compression pressure will leak intothe cooling, leak into the cooling system
and that could be over p shuringyour system. So you need to get
what they call a block test tomake sure you don't have any there's there's

(40:06):
what they call a block test. It's a very simple test the shop can
perform to see if there's any hydrocarbonsin your coolant. Those would be coming
from the head gasket. Okay, okay, well I will I will tell
Teck the radiator first. If thatif that lip is on there, then

(40:28):
you're fine. And the next oneyou have to do it. It's simple
test, like I said, ablock test. Okay, Well, one
is that the first problem when ithappened all the time, if it was
not necessarily no, no, becausea lot of times you have a small
leak will exacerbate with heat and thenthe pressure and the extra load from the

(40:49):
air conditioning could be pushing it over. Try that, see test and you
can always drop by shirt and allixaon Colfax west of wads Worth, Katie
three three four two is his number. Let's uh, let's continue now.
Kenny has a comment on the Fordthing. Which one was was that the

(41:16):
one where oh yeah, yeah, yeah yeah. Now on one person on
YouTube said one of my YouTube moronssaid, maybe he leaves the door open
when he's pumping gas, and thatwould I don't know anyway, what's your
comment, Kenny? He says, when he pumps gas and he only goes
to this one place, but whenever, whenever he pumps gas, his battery

(41:38):
light comes on. When he getsback in the cab, he can't start
it or excuse me, it's difficultstarting. Then everything's normal until he goes
back to get gased. Kenny,Yeah, I got you. It's the
fuelly vapp valve on those they getstuck open, so when you feel it
it hard starts. It just cranksover and over and Thei'll finally go know

(42:00):
but he said it what okay?Yeah, he's saying it's a slow crank
and his battery light comes up.It's like his battery is dying. I
didn't know if that's exactly what hemeant, because he's like, the battery
light will come on when you crankyour motor. Sure, oh okay,
maybe maybe you're right. So buttell me about that evapp thing. What

(42:21):
happens? Okay, So it getsit gets stuck open, and whenever you
fuel your vehicle, paper gets intothe motor and then it doesn't want to
start, and it happens every timeyou fuel. It was like a flooding
started. Yeah, it's almost likea flooding. Cool. I got you,
bro, I got you. Thatmakes sense. Thank you, Kenny,
appreciate it. Okay, Kenny,I would give you a piece of

(42:45):
pizza if you were here. Okay, now let's go to Ron's. Got
a question on tax refunds from thestate. Go ahead, rond Tom I
fouled taxes and I believe that therewas a segment on the news the other
day saying that there's a lot ofchecks misplaced, and I was wondering,

(43:05):
is there a number to call toa department of revenue? Is this the
state or the federal the state.Okay, did you get your federal check?
Yeah? I did get the federalcheck. When did you file your
taxes? Ron, it's gonna bethe beginning of February. Oh that's way

(43:30):
too soon. That bro that Iwouldn't start worrying about it now. Oh
though. The only reason I wasinquiring because I seen on Fox thirty one
and they were saying that people hadn'treceived their checks and they had been misplaced.
And I've been trying to call Departmentof Revenue, but there's no number
that connects you to anyone. No, you know what, I have not

(43:53):
heard What do you mean by displace? I have not heard about that.
Yeah, it was on a coupleof days ago with Box thirty one.
It was a segment on the news. Okay, I'm gonna look that up,
but I've not heard about that.Did they say that happened at the
state level? Yes, the statelevel. Yeah, you should just the

(44:17):
ft and I don't know why youmessed with a check. Yeah, they
would and accept the wired. They'vethey've been converting your direct deposit to paper
check for some reason, and theysay that on their boys. Well,
what do they say to do whenyou saw that story, what did they
say to do? Well, thereporters said that they're gonna that they have

(44:40):
an investigation going on, but therewas no remedy for the taxpayers to do
because there's no way to connect withthe Department of Revenues. Did you go
on to the state. Did yougo on to the website and hit the
click the where's my refund? Yes? I did? And what did you
find? Uh? It shows thatthey sent it out. They showed they

(45:07):
sent my checkout on the eleventh ofApril. Oh okay, well, if
that's what they show, you shouldhave gotten so wait, it actually said
that they sent it out. Yes, because it shows this little crack.
Okay, I'm reading here. I'mreading here not from Fox but somewhere else.

(45:28):
Fifty six thousand checks went to wrongaddresses. Wow, how the hell
did that happen? Now they havea special number to call if you think
that this might have included your checkbecause you did not get it. Here
it is, I got the numberfor you. Three to zero three nine

(45:51):
five one four nine nine six.Okay three oh three nine five one four
nine six. Now that number isto inquire about your check. If you
believe it went. It was oneof these fifty six. So tell them

(46:15):

be one of them. It saidthey mailed it out and I haven't gotten
it. But that's the number. We'll cut through the mustard for you.

go back to the phones. Nowhere's the thing. Now, I think
we took Jay right on that Fordissue. Was that that we took and
he had a comment on that yet? Okay, So now let me move
on here and oh Heather, Heather'sturn. Okay, Heather, is this

(48:09):
the no? This is that wasKim yesterday with Perfect Teeth. This is
a new one, Heather. What'sgoing on with you? Right? So
I went to the cup last yearnice and again. I want to tell
people, just just to be clear, they're independent dentists that sign onto this

(48:30):
marketing program. So it's it isokay. I just want to make that
clear. Like Perfect Teeth, it'snot a dentist. Perfect Teeth is a
marketing tool. Go ahead. Soyou went to a Perfect Teeth dentist,
Yes, and I needed a rootnow, And I also I was considering

(48:51):
getting an implant instead of the rootsnow, and I was booked for after
the dentists got back from vacation andbeing time, I went ahead and I
gave them a sixteen hundred dollars deposit. Now, and what were you going
to have done for the sick?Did you decide if it's going to be
either or so it was. Ihad not fully decided, but I was

(49:15):
told that whatever insurance didn't cover,or if I didn't use it, then
it would be refundable. Well,of course it would be if you don't
have anything done. I mean,I mean, obviously you have to pay
for the exam and everything. Butbut you were going to either get either
get an implant or a root canal. Yes. And so in the meantime

(49:37):
the dentist was gone for a month, my tooth was hurting, and I
went to Comfort Dental and got itsquared away. So I went, well,
okay, so you went not withPerfect Teeth, but you went to
Comfort, which is another by theway marketing things. So what happened then
well, Comfort Dental got it takencare of, just because the dentists at

(49:58):
Perfect Teeth wouldn't have been that foranother month. So I got it all
handled and then I went back toPerfect Teak. Was this an emergency when
you went to Comfort? It was? Okay, it was, And so
I went ahead and got it allsquared away, and I went back to

(50:20):
Perfectly. Why didn't you go tothe other guy and maybe get a referral
or something? Were they open ornot? Or were they closed for a
month or what they were closed? The dentis was gone for a month,
okay, the py Pavilion, smokeyallocations okay? Yes. So then so

(50:43):
I went back to Perfect Teeth andI said, hey, I got this
squared away. Can I please gotmy money back? And I was told
yes, but it would be upto a month because I had to go
through several different departments, And soI waited a month and then I back
and I told them that I neverreceived a check. My address on file

(51:06):
is the address that I live at, and nothing's right. So you know,
the bottom line is you never gotthe sixteen hundred back. Yes,
And I was told three different timesthat the check was how long ago?
Was this a year? He waited? Oh God, why did you wait
so long? Because every single timethey say so, they have told me

(51:28):
Okay, yeah, I know, but still I'm hoping. I'm hoping you
didn't go past the statut of limitations. I don't think you did. To
file a lawsuit, you can goto small claims court. You'd get a
judgment in no time. I'd loveto call them here. Here's the problem
when we call them, Okay, when it comes to medical and dental,

(51:49):
they're going to want to hip aform signed, which I don't care.
We can do that with you.But truly, you would have quicker results
literally filing a small claim suit againstthat entists. There's no way they should
keep a deposit for nothing. Theydid nothing. Well, so the problem
is is that somewhere Brighton dent Allbought out for pies and you're done.

(52:14):
You're done. It's over. It'sdone. It's over that they don't exist
anymore. Okay, I swear toGod. This is so. If people
listening, please please please please pleasedon't wait. Call me. Do not
wait with a problem. Now thisdentist. When you say they were bought

(52:37):
out, is the dentist still there, I believe, so I'm not positive
because I haven't been back in.But did this dentist work there or did
he own the place? I'm notsure? Did you? I would put
in a matter complaint to the dentalboard and you'll get immediate results. The

(53:00):
words right out of my mouth. That was my second thing. I was
going to recommend. Thank you talkabout that. Where does she go?
Well, just go to uh DoraDRA which is the vision of regulatory agencies.
They'll get the number for five excuseme? Well on you did that?
And what happened? No response?Oh that's wait a minute. Did

(53:22):
you actually fill out a complaint?I sure did? Where on the Dora
website? And then I called theAttorney General as well, and let me
see if I have like a confirmationor something from that. I can't believe.

(53:44):
I cannot believe you got You weretotally ignored. Okay, oh for
Dora. They did so they did. They said thank you for reaching out
to our office. The laws, rules and policies regarding to practice string Colorado
can be found here. After reviewing, and if you believe that something has
happened, that the board would takea look into you could suppent a complaint

(54:06):
at your discretion. Then it's gota link. Okay, so they did,
then you need to fight. Didyou go to that link and file
it? No? I just nowsearched in the email, and okay,
excellent, Please do that because youknow deputy doc, he's a doc,
right, and and he's been adoc and he said Dora will look into

(54:29):
medical professionals. He says, theydo. I have a phone. I
had some I've had some crazy complaintsand I know as a physician I'm short
dentist too. You get what's calledthe thirty day notice, So if someone
files a complaint you have you haveto respond within thirty days or else the
consequence is a pretty severe I alsohave a phone number if you need I

(54:53):
have a phone number if you needmore information to three oh three eight nine
force eight nine four seventy eight hundred. Okay, And I mean, am
I filing against the dentisten since perfectyyou file against a dentist? Yes?
Ok got it. Now I'm notsure what the what the galleys are going

(55:15):
to be there, so anyway, but just at least do that, because
I think small claims court you're goingto have a problem with Now, is
Jay new because I thought we tookhim? Is he knew? He says,
you never went to him. I'msorry, j I'm sorry, I

(55:36):
misunderstood. I thought we had gone. You have a comment also on that
forward that goes to Costco, fillsup with gas and cannot start his car.
Afterwards, the battery light comes onand he says, it's slow cranks.
What do you think it is?Going back to the first part,
toscar has nothing to do with it. So wait, so did you okay?

(56:00):
Go ahead? Go ahead? I'msorry, go ahead. So when
he gets gas, it wouldn't matterwhere he can get it any place.
The other color was correct. Theevaporative valve is open. When the gas
tank kills up with gas. Becausethat valve's open, it fills the entirre
intake manifold completely with gas, fumesand gas floods it. He goes to

(56:21):
crank it, his weak battery ishaving trouble doing that, staring the flood,
and he's going to need a batterypretty soon, and he needs to
need that top. So what you'resaying is it's a coincident. I mean,
not a coincidence, but there's twothings happening. There's two things happening.
Yeah, that's prettyful. That iswhat's happening. Well, thank you,
Jay. I love Jay's confidence whenhe calls. This is not the

(56:44):
first time he called. He says, oh, that's it. So,
but that's possible. Isn't it thathe has a weak battery to begin with?
But the reason he doesn't notice theweak battery in the is because it
doesn't flood yep, it doesn't takethat extra crank. I hope he's listening
because all of this is pretty cool. John, what's going on with your
Subaru cross track? Hey, goodmorning, Tom, thanks for taking my

Hey, do you think the Denvermayor went to the draft, the NFL

(58:38):
draft in Detroit on the city's dime? Kevin, Yeah, absolutely, that
would take some nerve. I mean, with us running out of money.
Yeah, but he could call itbusiness. You know what would he be
doing there supporting Denver. No,come on, man, no, no,
we're there are other mayors there.I don't even know. I don't

(59:00):

office? Did you talk about thisat all? Dragging on? Uh?
Now? What did you all knowabout that? Yeah? He was there
in the crowd. A number ofpeople saw him. Hey, Kachina,
I'd like to ask the mayor's officeif he flew on the city's dime.

(59:23):
Now, John's got a question ona cross track Subaru. What's the problem
with the engines in them? John? What did you hear about them?
Well? Over the years, I'vejust it seems like I've heard that suber
Brews have some kind of problem witha head or a head gasket or something.
But I've also heard how good theyare. The subrew's about going anywhere,
And I just thought maybe you couldclarify for me. Yeah, the

(59:45):
head gaskets did have a problem inthe mid two thousands, but they've pretty
well worked that through. They justhad compatibility issues with the gasket in that
motor. But yeah, all inall, it's pretty solid. They've got
the transmission issues, So there isno special problem with Subaru in the newer
ones and the older engines, say, you know two thousand and two thousand
and eight something in there, theythey had issues with. They wouldn't wouldn't

(01:00:07):
last more than one hundred thousand monks. Do you know I had a Super
years ago? Really an out back. Okay, that's a little station wire
right, yeah? Yeah, itwas turbo. Oh nice, I went
through car of course. What's that, sir? So there's problems with the
transmissions. Kevin was san they know, they've worked those out as well.
When they first came out with aCBT, everybody had trouble. So like

(01:00:30):
twenty seventeen, twenty eighteen, theyhad a lot of issues with the CVTs,
but they've worked through a lot oftheir problem. How many miles do
you think you're going to consider onthem or get it a new one?
What are you going to get?Well, I want to get a brand
new one. So I'm going toretire next year and I'm hoping to get
a car that will last as longas I do. Bro, that's a
great car, especially if you're goingto transition boom. That's a joke.

(01:00:54):
Come on, yeah, yeah,Okay, we thank you very very much.
Okay, John three old three sevenone three A two five five.
Come on, I'm just having somefun. Okay. Anyway, so let's
talk to okay Ken. He wantsto talk about a Chevy Impala. But

(01:01:15):
a ten year old or eleven yearold or right now twelve year old one?
I guess what's going on? Ken? Well, I'm just checking and
just turn. Just put in sixtythree thousand. Just turn sixty three thousand.
That's all. That's all you haveon that car that is correct.
Whoa just doesn't doesn't get driven thatmuch. So it's doing perfect shape.

(01:01:38):
So but one thing I needed toknow. Should I change the transmission?
Uh, fluid and stuff in therelike I did at thirty thousand? Yeah,
maintenance is everything in cars. Yeah, I was win in doubt.
Just do it. Okay, that'swhen I need to know. Now I
appreciate it. Was it how manymiles did you say? Sixty? Thing?

(01:02:00):
I've got sixty three thousand on it? Is it like new? Uh?
Yeah, it's the only thing it'sbad on it is the four seats,
I mean the fourth pads. That'sit isn't that it's perfect when you
say the floor. You mean yourmats. Yep, yep, that's the
only thing that's Wow cool three allthree seven to one three talk, thanks

(01:04:48):
three talks seven or three eight twofive to five. Now I want to
talk about taxes Brian as a question. Go ahead, Brian, what's going
on with you? Yeah? Howare you? Tom? Good? Hey?
Tell Oliver. I didn't want torush him, so I wanted him
to. I want to give himmore time if he can hold on for

(01:05:09):
a second. Brian, what's goingon with taxes? What's your question?
So I listened to your last callerabout the checks that are getting mailed to
the wrong addresses, about fifty sixthousand of them. Yeah, right,
So I went and checked on mine, and mine was mailed on March twenty
eighth. So I checked my actualreturn paperwork. And what happened is I

(01:05:31):
believe that my W twos have theircorrect mailing address, but the actual State
Income Test refund form has my oldtreet address, which was never my mailing
address. So what are you doingabout it? I don't know. I
tried to call that number that yougave him. But they're too busy,
I said, you know, toomany callers. We can't take a call

(01:05:54):
right now. So I thought Iwould just ask you, maybe what else
I could try to do. Well, supposedly, supposedly the state is trying
to work on it. I wantto ask you something. Do you have
did access to the old address?I do? Correct? Yeah, Well

(01:06:17):
did you check with anyone there? No, I haven't. I just did
that today. So yeah, whydon't you check? I mean, who
lives there at the old address?Well it was an apartment Oh damn it.
Yeah, well my sister actually ownsthe building. But who would have
gotten the mail? Well? Mymillion. I've never had a maillion address

(01:06:41):
there, so somehow between me andH and R Block, we've got the
number or the addresses mixed up.I guess. Well that's what I mean.
So where was it sent? Doyou have access to where it was
sent? Yeah? I do.But there's no mailbox there. There never
was. Oh what would what?I wonder? What would happen then if
that was put down? There's nomailbox at all. But there's an actual

(01:07:03):
location right, correct? And it'san apartment house, yes it is,
But they so what happens to theother people that get mailed there. I'm
sure they have feel boxes. Imean, that's what that's what I have.
Okay, Okay, I see whatyou're saying. You got man,
Gosh, what I would do iskeep You just got to keep trying that

(01:07:26):
number. I just looked that upand they said that right now they're inundated,
but you got to keep trying tothe good news is this. They
say that if you have money coming, you're going to get the money.
It's not going to be withheld, and you're not going to lose it,
which is good news. Now,Oliver, Well, I'm sorry what Well?
Well, I was wondering because Ithink last year I never got that

(01:07:48):
table either, so I'm wondering ifit's still sitting there too. You never
got it last year, No,so I'm sure it probably went to that
same address. Man. You didyou correct? Lead listen, did you
correct your address? No? Ididn't cast it. So today, Well,
okay, go correct it. Dothat first, okay, and then

(01:08:10):
we'll take it one step at atime. But you should be able if
it wasn't cashed, to get it. If it was cash, you're in
a world of hurt because if somebodygot it and cashed it, it's gonna
take It's almost impossible to prove itwas fraud, and that's gonna be a
problem. Three oh three seven onethree talk seven one three eight two five

and what was like, what wasthe come on, tell me what they

(01:11:19):
first said to you. Oliver. He was claiming he was buying a house
here in Denver and he wanted tosend me a deposit. I told him
what my terms were. I wantedI wanted to get So was he asking

(01:11:40):
for concrete work? Yes, okay, for a driveway for him at this
house that he was procuring. Uh, and he want him he was going
to send me twenty thousand and hewanted me to take I think my job

(01:12:00):
cost was thirteen and he wanted meto take the balance to pay the realtor
what do you mean paym for what? Guy? Well, he was going
to pay me to do the job, but he was going to send me
at twenty thousand to my bank account. No, I get what were you

(01:12:23):
paying supposedly? What were you payingthe real estate guy for? I wasn't
paying He wanted me to pay him, I know it. That's what I'm
getting at, is Oliver. I'masking you what he wanted you to pay
him for. What was he sayingit was for? Oliver? He said

(01:12:46):
he just needed to pay his realtor. He didn't say what it was for.
He didn't say I need to payhim the commissioner, I need to
pay him this. He just saidI need you to pay him. How
did he say you were supposed topay the real estate guy? Take the
money out of the check he wasgoing to send me? And yeah,
and then did he want you towrite another check or do what? Oh?

(01:13:13):
Just to do that? Did hesay? How did he say that
the real did he say the realestate guy would come by to get it
or what? No, he wantedme to pay the real estate guy.
But he hasn't given me an address. The guy keeps calling me, oh,
oh, hold on, hold on, you got this guy's number.

(01:13:38):
I do, okay, And hesays that he wants you and and did
he send you the money yet?No, he wants my mobile banking information.
He he didn't send me. Uh, he did send me a check

(01:14:01):
for one thousand dollars. I guesshe was as a good faith estimates,
I guess, I don't know whatkind of what kind of Does he want
your account number and your routing number? Yes, you know, once they
have that, they can withdraw money, right, I understand that, But

(01:14:23):
no, I have not acquienced that. Yeah. And also that check you
sent you, does it have aname and account and all of that on
it. Yeah, it's got aname and it's got a bank on it,
of course, And I called thebank, and the bank the people

(01:14:45):
that are on the check are differentfrom this guy who's trying to get me
to do the job. Of course, but he stole a check. He
stole a check, so I youknow, I this is not the first
guy that's done this. I get. I get these calls, this attempts

(01:15:08):
all the time. Can you puthim off a little, Just put him
off and tell him that you cantake care of this on Monday. What
I'd like to do is, I'dlike to look into this guy, and
I'd like to give me if yougive me his information. He obviously left
you a phone number in a name, right, Yes, he left me

(01:15:32):
an email, but he not aphone number and a phone number. Good.
I'd like you to give us thatoff the air. I'd also like
you to give us I'd also liketo give us a copy of that check.
Okay, hold on phone, sOliver. We want to hold on kitchena

(01:15:57):
talk to Oliver off the air.I want to I want to this guy,
So get that stuff on there please, And then Bob says he has
a comment on this concrete scam.Go ahead, Bob. Did anyone try
to hire you under similar circumstances?Bob, No, here's the other scam
that's going on. Tom. Whatthey do is they text you and they

(01:16:18):
take it. Buy a house andthey want the driveway replaced, and they'll
send you a teck for it.So what I did. It happened to
me about a mile from my house. I went to that house. They
had a brand new driveway in it. And so what I do is I
say, hey, I can't doany work without meeting there, and of
course they give me this oh please, I'm in the house or whatever.

(01:16:39):
And so another contractor actually did thetor off this guy's driveway called me and
said, hey, Bob, didyou get a car tone? Yes,
And I said it's a scam.He goes, well, how would you
know that? I said, becauseit had a brand new driveway in it,
and why would you go do workfor somebody or having none? So
that's the other scam that they're pulling. They're trying to do my text also,

(01:17:01):
Oh my god, tell me.Yeah. I think what they're doing
is they've caught on it. Somepeople are catching I'm not going to this
phone call thing. If all Icould tell contractors, any contractor that can't
need a home, I mean thecustomer at their house, walk away from
it. You don't even need tohave a conversation with him, walk away

(01:17:23):
otherwise you know you didn't stay up. God, this is a big deal.
I'm I'm glad you told me aboutit. So how and you had
a friend that got called to Bob. Yeah, so he went out.
He went out, actually did toreon a brand new driveway and put it
back in. And I asked him, I said, why would you tell

(01:17:43):
out a brand new driveway? Hesaid, because the guy said he didn't
like it and he wanted us todo something different. I said, did
you ever meet with him? Hegoes, well, no, he's sitting
there. Check. I said, you got taken And that was all the
fourteen thousand dollars he got taken forOh my gosh, all down now.
So not only hold on, notonly did he do the work when he

(01:18:06):
got overpaid, did he send moneyback to the guy. No, because
he didn't realize at the point whenhe got that check and took him to
the bank and they tell him thatfraud, that's when he realized he got
ripped off. And that's how I'msaying. Contractors don't their work if you
can't meet the actual homer on theproperty. And even if you can meet

(01:18:26):
the homeowner, don't take a cashier'scheck or a check unless you can clear
it at their bank. Absolutely,I never had that prom in forty years.
But I'm telling you I don't knowwhy the contractor would do work without
getting the actual homer at the placeto make sure the work that you want
done you know you're in agreement withit. I want to try to sting
this guy if Oliver gets me allthat information. Thank you Bob from lam

understand why people they're ripping off contractorslike this. So they say I want
to drive away, or I wantthis, or I want that. Then
they send the contractor an overpayment andtell them to pay the real estate person
or someone else. I don't understandwhy people would ever fall for that.

(01:20:42):
Have you ever, Kevin, haveyou ever encountered ever auto service where they
tried to overpay you and say, well, we're gonna we get emails that
they want us to order a dozensets of a specific tire. Oh really,

It's a cool car. Wise, what is it a performance car?

(01:21:26):
Yes, it's an H SHO sh O. Okay, So what about
it? Well, it says thecatalytic curve verb urb failed and uh,
I don't even know who's I cangive me a bid or qualified to fix
it, or yeah we can youknow it's Sara we can get you know,
Kackabaille building it. Now, arethose old ones the California standard?

(01:21:49):
Everything is California, even that oldone. Yes, you can't. But
back when it was built it wasn't. Uh no, no it wasn't.
But you can't replace it with anold one like a cat. No,
you can't. You can't get afactory wing for it. So it's only
going to be after mark. Youknow how much that's going to cost you?
Right? Bro? Well I calledup Riley and Auto Zone and whatnot

(01:22:11):
and they quoted me five hundred andsixty dollars. Yep, that's probably about
right for the cat. Oh Ithought that was not terrible for those Oh
you know where what why are wehearing from two to four grand? Well?
Those cars have three and four cats? Oh and some are So how
much would it cost to have whatdone on that at a shop? You
know it's probably twenty th and twelvehundred bucks? That's how much Walter.

(01:22:35):
You realize the installation is going todouble that? Right? Yeah, you
got it. There's some cutting andwelding to do for it. What does
does does your man do it oroh yeah, yeah, we do that
all the time. Why did theysay it failed? Did it have a
tech engine light or a code fora catalytic converter? Well, I don't

(01:22:56):
know. I gave him the paperworkor whatnot. It says seal to only
it failed last year and I wentdown there and there was Rocky Mountain out

take take it? Yeah, theyhave subscribed place as yell, Well,
this is in North Glenn, or're off of Washington in eighty eight.

(01:23:23):
So how many horse powers that show? That's over three hundred? Is it
pretty fast? Walter? It startsreally easy, got good power, and
it gets about twenty three miles togo. And how many miles on it?
I got one hundred and sixty seven. I've had it for twenty five
years. Wow. That things soldfor twenty three thousand brand new in ninety

(01:23:47):
three. In ninety three. Yeah, it's a high high dollar Taurus.
If you want to send me acopy of the emissions, I'll be happy
to look at it again for you, because that's unusual diagnosis for a cat.
What do you mean, Well, yeah, unless he's got a cat
code. You know a PO fourtwenty cord, Like, how would they

so Kevin, and that's Apple Airwith an E dot com Appleair and
Air has an E Apple Air dotcom. Hey Kevin on the catalytic conversion
then, so the catalytic converters they'renot about Are they about two grand for

(01:26:45):
a normal car? Yeah? Itjust depends on a lot of variables.
The size of the card matters, the size of the engine matter. Why
do they have so many cats?I didn't understand that. Well, they
every time they would pass different regulationsthe easiest way for many sometimes hang another
cat. But wait a minute. So when people say they get their catalytic

(01:27:06):
converters stolen, they're talking about theone closest to the end of the car
right there. They're talking about theinline cat. Yes, typically okay,
and that one. When people sayand I can't believe it's this much money,
they're talking about just one cat becauseyou don't have to replace all of
them, no, if they're stolen. No, but some of them you
can only buy through the manufacturer. Some of them not aftermarket available, different

(01:27:27):
things, that's why. And andthey're that expensive, yes, you know
they can be high dollar stuff. Is it? The newer the car,
The newer the car, the moremoney it is. Yes. And the
reason they're stealing them is for thoseprecious metals, Yes, exactly. They
just recycle them. What is themetal? Platinum or what palladium? A
few other things in there. Theychange the cocktails. I haven't heard much

(01:27:49):
about them lately. No, it'sit's kind of quieted down. I think,
you know, it's it's still goingon. I mean it's still you
know, you still get calls onit. Yeah, yeah, from stole
one, some stolen one. Now, how often they don't fail? Very
often? Do they? No?In theory they should never fail. It
should be a lifetime part really fromcontamination from misfires, too much gas oil

(01:28:11):
burning anti freeze you know as ohthat goes into the saut exhaust. That's
what takes them out. But normally, and don't they even have a long

three nine two zero sixteen twenty two. Hi Tom Martino, you're troubleshooting today's
Star Dable taking calls on anything.Uncle Kevin's with me. We're talking about
problems, questions and complaints and uhright now, John's got a question about

(01:29:18):
his engine on a nineteen ninety threeDodge two fifty diesel. John, Welcome
to the show. So what's goingon? John? Are you good?
Hey? So I'm looking at takeit on a project call. It is
a ninety three. It's the fivepoint nine intercooled diesel. I know for
a fact it's going to need thewhole NFI fuel pump. But it's got

(01:29:43):
two hundred and fifty nine thousand mileson it. And before I take on
that much of a project, Ijust want to know there's anything else I
should look at. How much. How much does it costing you to get
this ninety three Dodge two fifty. It's gonna be about the truck itself.
I'm getting for free. It's it'sproject car that I'm picking up for truck
service. Well that's great. Imean you can almost not go wrong there,

(01:30:04):
even if you had to Kevin dothe math. That's a solid motor.
They're half a million mile motor.Easy. Yeah. But before I
start taking on the project, isthere any other than replacing that pump that
I should start looking at seals orreplace the injectors or anything like that.
Not necessarily. Those Those were oneof the original diesels they come to put

(01:30:26):
in. You know, the Cummingsthat they put in for did how many
miles? Did he say it's halfbroke in? You wouldn't rebuild that edge?
Yeah, that's a five hundred thousandmile that's a legitimate diesel engine.
Holy they put in a pickup truck. It's not something they And what do
you need to do? You needto do the whole fuel rail. The

(01:30:46):
fuel pump needs to be replaced. There isn't one on the truck that was
taken off. YEP, So Ijust got to get another one of those.
And so how much is all?How much are you going to have
in it? If you did whateveryou wanted? There probably about two thousand
dollars? Are you kidding me?How's the tranny on it? Is that?
What kind of DOPPL? Yeah, that's the weak part. But even

(01:31:08):
if you had to do the transmission, you're still ahead of it. Yes,
I mean, Mike, how's thebody? Bro how is it?
It's a farm truck, so youknow, the painful, a little dinged
up, but it has a flatbedsist wheeler on the back, so that's
kind of why I want it.That's a good setup. But yeah,
you can't go wrong with that Cummingsengine. They're they're bulletproof as they come.
That's pretty I appreciate that, youknow. Okay, thanks John.

(01:31:30):
Hey have they ever put a Cummingsin a car? Are they too big?
They're heavy? But they used tosob as these trucks and send the
engines overseas for generator engines. Isthere any way too? Do they make
any decent diesel cars anymore? Theydon't do that. The emissions is killing
them. Okay, that's that's thebiggest problem. And then I was at

(01:31:54):
a fuel stop one time and Isaw a guy with a diesel big two
fifty or something. I don't knowwhat kind it was. I I say
two fifty, like that big size, and he was putting He took out
of the back of his pickup aregular another gas can. He was filling
something. What was it? Yeah, there's there's a separate added if you
got to add to the diesels everytime, every time, because it has

(01:32:14):
to, does it have its owntank? It has a separate tank.
When you take open the gas door. There's two filler there now. And
gas stations don't sell that stuff.Everybody sells it, but no, I
mean nobody. You can't pump it. No, you buy like a two
gallon box if you will. Andso when did that start? What year?
It's been out for about eight years? Oh? Come on, so
for eight years. If you havea diesel, you have to fill up

(01:32:36):
that other tank. What does thatother tank do? It's regeneration fluid.
So when your computer decides like you'rein the highway of this, they're going
to regenerate the catalytic converter and theexhaust on it. They use this fuel
to burn that off. Wow,it actually injects it into this. Does
it deteriorate your performance or no,No, it's just to it's only during

(01:33:01):
regeneration. The rest of the timeit just sits there. What is it?
Is it a patrol so uretha fluidthe actually use like cow urine and
other things originally. Yeah, yeah, it's it's a like a urhea.
Yeah, it's piss. Okay,that's a word. Wow. Three O

(01:33:21):
three seven one three talking. Helearned something every day here. I bet
you Dragon didn't know that. Nope, he isn't and he knows almost anything.
Man, everything all right, ThanksJohn for the call. Three O

the first time today we have alittle lull and call so you can get

(01:33:42):
right through. If you have aproblem, question, complaint, let us
know. And I have some stuffto talk about as well now. And
I think it's important brand names donot hold the allure that they once did,
especially in vehicles. People are lookingfor value, they say longevity.

(01:34:05):
I don't know. Do you findthere's a shift to people trying to keep
cars longer? Kiv Oh, absolutely, yeah. Our average ticket prices doubled
from what it was five years ago, so people are trying to keep longer,
so that would go. Now asfar as brands, there is a
switch away from brands, not justcars by the way, everything. People

(01:34:28):
are not having the loyalty they oncehad because they feel like, hey,
I'm not just gonna spend because ofa brand. Now with fashion brands,
women, some women are still tiedto that fashion. They want that fashion
and they want to sport that brand. Men are less inclined to do that
with fashion at all. Now somemen are but most of the time not

(01:34:53):
tied to fashion. But they havefound fifty eight percent of the people say
that they purchased from a brand newbrand. Fifty eight percent they tried new
brands, not the same old brand. That is incredible. And then also

(01:35:15):
when it comes to personal care products, now I tend to get something I
like and stick with it. Ido. When it comes to personal care,
A lot of people, though dothey don't care. They don't give
a rip about their shampoo, theydon't give a rip about their to the
odor, and they don't give arip about anything as long as they get

(01:35:36):
a good value. So as faras brand names, they're not tied to
anything. I I agree with allof this, except when it comes to
personal care products. When I getsomething I like, I don't like changing
it because I'm afraid of what itdoes to me. I don't want to
be allergic to something. I wantto get something that's comfortable. Katschina.

(01:35:57):
I want to ask you something.Do you do you stick to the same
personal care products all the time,or do you go and find if you
found a good deal. Would youswitch your shampoo or would you switch something
anything makeup or anything like that, shower gels. Would you switch just because
you get better prices? Yes,you would. So when you're shopping,
you don't think I want to findthis, whatever it is, lotion or

(01:36:24):
whatever. You will go for adeal. I will. Is there anything
you are tied to When it comesto brands, I do like the Whole
Blends coconut shampoo and conditioner. Uh, that's one of my So you will
stick to that. I sometimes do, But if there is something on sale
or something like that, I'll mixit up during the week and maybe,

(01:36:45):
you know, go every other dayusing the coconut brand or whatever. Lotion.
I don't care because they're all halfwater anyway. That's a good point,
and so are you one that fallsfor these high priced cosmetics things I
creams and stuff. No, Ido use I cream, but I happen
to use hemorrhoid cream for I cream. Okay, she's letting a secret out

(01:37:12):
that a lot of people what alot of people do? Hey, Tom,
don't you think it's also that whenmen go shopping, we go for
direct things. You don't walk aroundand see what we want to buy.
Shopping is not a sport to me, You're absolutely right. It's not recreation
and it's not a sport. Soyou know, if I want to buy
three things to my house, Igo to the exact same three things I
need and I'm mad at there.I don't walk around and I have one

(01:37:34):
And Kevin and I were talking aboutthis off the air. I got one
step better. I never go shoppinganymore, never, I have never ever.
I can't tell you when I wentinto a store. I can't tell
you. I just truly everything, including my coffee, everything is delivered,
and I love it. Well.I just still go to stores. I

(01:37:57):
just put a TV from Costco becauseit had a wat price and I had
it delivered. But I did haveto go to Costco. No, I
understand that. No, I'm nottalking about a durable, big item.
I'm talking about like your consumables.Do you go shopping for those? Still?
I do? Yeah? Really likefood and stuff like that? Yeah?
Everything? Oh absolutely, I haveordered only I think three things in

(01:38:18):
my life from Amazon. Wall You'reyou're an odd one. Now as far
as brand names, do you care? No? Not really? Okay,
So what about what about my YouTubemorons? Now, I would say they're
probably not going to be so muchinto branding people with cars. Still,

(01:38:39):
there's a lot of brand loyalty,Like a Ford pickup guy is not going
to drive a Chevy and Vice versawhen it comes to cars. Yes,
okay, let me see what itsays about car brands. I know that
it's said subarus are almost cult likeSAR owners will never let me see.
Let me see about car brands.Let's see. No, I mean,

(01:39:01):
I imagine there's some, but Istill see a lot of brand loyalty.
Yeah, okay, you would know, you would know more than I'm not
looking. I'm not seeing it onthis survey. But I will say that
you have changed my mind a lotnow on cars, because I really did
think that Mercedes and Beamers, butespecially Mercedes were the shisn't it's I truly

(01:39:24):
believe, I truly believed that hadI want to hold onto a car,
I can have good, dependable servicefor many, many years. And you're
saying that's not necessarily so now youmight get that engine to last year,
but you're going to put a lotof money into it. That bothers me
a lot. It does Kevin, because it it really shattered my impression.

(01:39:45):
Now it's still better than the rangeRover, right and that kind of stuff.
Okay, but you're saying you couldget a Japanese car way better as
far as longevity and dependability and likeAlexus, Yeah, you know total you
know, Lexus is the higher endof course, So what about and not
that I'm going to get this, but what about Ferrari and Lamborghini? Do

(01:40:08):
you even know? I don't know. I mean I had it for our
years ago when I was stupid andit was a new one, and I
never had a problem with well, well never had a problem because you don't
put miles on them, you're afraidto drive. But on those really weird
kind of cars, I wonder howthey are because no one ever knows no,
because no one puts mileage on them. Who buys them? Then?

(01:40:29):
Because you know, on this Ferrarithing, they said, when you get
two thousand miles, it depreciates thehell I said, what two not twenty
thousand? Two thousand? Okay,so they're collectors must people must buy that
page. That's stupid. It's juststupid. Okay, we got to take

Oh, this as a CVT transmission. About a year ago it started
acting up. What races up toabout thirty five hundred before it shifts into

(01:41:54):
the first gear. Gosh, Itook it to I took it to a
transmission shop and they looked at andsaid, essentially, do nothing, wait
for fall apart. So I'm questioningwhether there's anything that makes sense to do.
It's a three thousand dollars car aneight thousand dollars transmission replacement. So
are there any suggestions from your guesttoday? God, short of obchaging out

you put a transmission in. No, double the car. The cost of
that, not the value. Soyeah, you should just run it into

Hi, Tom Martino here, Welcometo the show. Three oh three
seven one three talk three oh threeseven one three eight two five five.

(01:44:41):
Listen. We're talking about some importantstuff here today. But there's one thing
I have to bring out, onething I must make clear. We talked
a couple of weeks ago about OneSolar, a company that was supposed to
do a solar system for a couple. They did it, but they did
it in an area that can't feedbackto the grid due to Excel Energies insufficient

(01:45:10):
grid system there. And this iswhat they tried to blame Excel Energy for
this. It's not excels problem. They were warned about this and ignored the
warning and took sixty grand from thesepeople to get this system in a system
they can't use properly. And ValorSolar. Valor Roofing is the one that

(01:45:32):
sold this system va l R.Now I talked about this. Originally,
no one would come on and talkabout it. Everyone ignored us from One
Solar and from Valor. But thenI started getting texts from Valor, a
ton of them. And I wasgetting texts saying, you, you know,

(01:45:56):
defamed us. We're a great company, we stand behind our people and
not getting a whole story. AndI said to Mark over at Valor,
I said, come on the show. You have every opportunity. He said
he would never called me back.He said he was going to be going
last week. And I said,I will shut up. I won't say
a word till you get back.Okay, Well, crickets. That's what

(01:46:21):
we're getting from these people. Crickets. And I'm going to tell you why,
because when he looked into it,he no doubt he no doubt found
out what I found out, andthat is he's in bed with crooks.
In my opinion, he's in bedwith One Solar. And I looked into
our records and we have several complaintsabout One Solar, all sold by Valor

(01:46:45):
and Valor Roofing sucks. Okay, they might be a long established company with
a great family name, and Idon't think they intend to rip anyone off.
But I will tell you this, people are getting ripped off in my
opinion, with these terrible cites stemsfrom One Solar and they don't have an
explanation for it. So what weget? What do we get? Yeah,

(01:47:10):
that's what we get. That's whatwe get. And we're getting that
from Valor Roofing and One Solar. They were all bravado, we want to
come on, we want to dothis, we want to do that.
Yet nothing, So watch out forValor Roofing. They have sold systems and

(01:47:31):
people have been very disappointed. AndI gotta tell you, if you're in
bed with someone who's doing a badjob and you're selling their systems and you
keep selling them, I got toask why. So, Mark Brown,
you know you were all adamant aboutcoming on the air. Come on the
air, Come on the air.I want to hear why you think paying

(01:47:55):
sixty thousand dollars for a solar systemyou can't use is a great idea.
Not to mention the other complaints we'vegotten about you. Now, let me
go to the phones. Terry wantsto talk about a ninety nineteen ninety Dodge
Dakota. Hey, what's going on? Hey? Tom? What's going on

(01:48:19):
today? Yeah? What about you? Man? What about your ninety?
That's an old Dodge. Well Iinherited it. Oh good, it's only
it only has twenty two thousand mileson it. No it doesn't, No,
it doesn't. Yes, a nineteenninety. Yes, and it's a

(01:48:43):
ragtop. Wait wait a minute,Wait a minute, wait a minute.
Nineteen ninety Dodge Dakota, ragtop Dakodaor daytop? Yes, a Daytona no
pick up way way? Wait waitwait, wait, come on, come
on, hold on, I'm lookingthis up. A nineteen ninety Dodge d'akona

(01:49:05):
pick up DoD doud Dodge Dakota.Yep, I see it. A Dodge
to. I'll be damned. Inever a convertible. What are you kidding
me? I say, I'm lookingat it. I never knew they made
such a mark. I mean, what a cool looking truck? Anyway,
what about it? I have howmany miles on this thing? I gotta

(01:49:28):
believe that's how many miles? Twentytwo thousand? Wow? No no,
no, no no no? Thenthen isn't there such a thing as too
few miles. I'm serious, Kevinsaid, no, no, what I
mean that the engine is not reallyit's it's going to be trouble leaks and
seals from things. But yeah,no no issues. What is that worth?

(01:49:53):
Okay? Yeah? Fifteen? Whatexactly they paid for it? Yeah?
Uh a uh collector price about thirtyfive grand? So what's your question
about it? Well, I've gota question. I should I brain the

(01:50:16):
transmission fluid? Sure? Why not? You don't flush it? No,
you wouldn't, fly said what saying'sout the filter and gasket and new fluid?
Sure? What about the rest ofthe This thing must run like brand
new? Right? It is brandnew? Yeah? The only thing I

(01:50:36):
changed was was the tires and litit this this last summer. When did
you get this truck? U?Well, my dad bought it brand new?
Oh my god? So you knowfor damn sure that this only has
twenty thousand miles? Wow? Yes? Wow? And where did you buy

(01:50:59):
it? I've never seen I Whywhy did he let me ask you this?
Did he put it away on purpose? Like not put miles on it
on purpose? Exactly? Because ifyou look up, they only made twelve
thousand of them. Yeah, I'dnever seen one. Did you look it

(01:51:19):
up? I'm looking at it.I didn't know they existed. Where do
you get parts for that? Likethe rag top? What would you do?
I don't know. The ragtops isband new, it's been it's been
covered. I say, you know, I've got to cover for it.
It's been covered. If I don'tdrive, it's covered anyway. So what's

(01:51:40):
your question about? Mainly? Transmission? Flu has been mainly okay? Yeah,
Kevin says, get it done? What twenty two thousand do you do?
I spend the money to get thetransmission? I would you? No?
No, listen, man, itdoesn't just go by miles, It
goes by time. It's you shouldget condensation and and you know all kinds

(01:52:03):
of different moisture in there. Andit's just one of my just simple and
went in doubt. Just do it. Yeah, if you got any thought
at all about doing the maintenance, oil changes, tune ups, filters,
just do them. You'll never gowrongdoing maintenance. So you got too,
you know, you got a lotof How about twenty something years thirty thirty

(01:52:24):
oh thirty? Oh my goodness, you're right? Are you right here?
Old car? Holy crap, that'sright. Yeah, thirty four years old.
Well bad bought it new one inOctober of eighty nine. Do you
know, worry about it? Hebought it at Schmidt Motors and obol All
in Nebraska. Well, well,of course that would be more of California.

(01:52:46):
That dealership is not Schmid Motors anymore, but that's where he he ordered
it through Schmidt Motors and obo Allin Nebraska. That's cool. I would
do all fluids, and I woulddo everything on that thing. Since it's
new, I would has it beensitting around a long time, I would
do hoses, belts, I woulddo it all. Well, I mean

(01:53:10):
every summer he would get it outand drive it. You know, but
when was the last time it wasdriven? Right now, when was the
last time last summer? I droveit last summer? Okay, So just
be really careful because things that old, the rubbers and all of that.
Man, you really have to watchthat. That's what I meant by you

(01:53:31):
know, you know, having mileage. I mean you don't want too much
mileage, but too little use canhurt that too. I would definitely,
and even if you used it,so the rubber is going to wear out.
I mean there's a life limit torubber and to belts into hoses and
all of that. Anyway, Yeah, all right, cool, this is
uh, this was cool now,Pete, what about you? Pete?

(01:53:54):
What's going on? Hey, TomKevin, I just wanted to I bought
a twenty twenty one ram Pro Masterwork Fan about six months ago in November
and December, and bought if fromEnterprise Rental. I had truck of thunder
and the guy hit me in totalit and they gave me some money.
So I just bought a rental truckto them and it had seventy thousand no

(01:54:16):
o, my got it. It'sgot seventy eight five on it. Now.
They gave me a twelve thousand milesor twelve years or twelve months bumping
a bump for warranty, and Ijust hear so much about the transmissions.
Oh, your transmission is going togo to heck at you know, seventy
thousand miles and you to spend eightI've been here in the last couple of
Yeah, so it's not. Thisis a van, right, yes,

(01:54:38):
yes, So what would would theissue be? There's is there any particular
issues? Every car is going tohave a transmission issue before. That's the
first major issue in most cars, but not at seventy eight thousand. No,
no, no, I would justyou know, if you don't have
any record of maintenance, I wouldperform maintenance cool. I have full record
of maintenance from Enterprise Rental. Theykept very good record. They change the

(01:54:59):
fluids, you know, it's gotthat ten thousand mile oral change on which
to me is crazy. I wouldnever go that long, but you know,
but no, they give me allthe records. But there's nothing that
I see stiff online and everything, you know, and people posting all that
thing is going to crap out onyou, and you know, and it's
perfect, it runs perfect, it'sin perfect conditions. And so is there
any just just do what did youpay? What did you pay for that

(01:55:21):
twenty eight thousand? That's not badat all? Nope, I could your
predictable. The transmission is going togo out on it at some point,
at some point, yeah, yeah. Here should I be changing the flood?
How often should I be changing thefoods and stuff? Depending on the
driving, you know, every otheryou know, every two years or so,

(01:55:41):
you know, or if you're doinga lot more miles than that,
you can shorten it, but veryfew people would do more mileage than every
two years. Yeah, you know, forty forty fifty thousand miles about as
far as you want to go.I got mile a mob now just full
tools. I'm a plumber and aplumbing contractor and I drive a lot of
thousand to twelve hundred all them off. But it's it's emactly. I mean,
I love it. You know thatis very cool, man. I'm

(01:56:04):
so happy when people can find stuffthat's just serviceable and still work. You're
beating the system, thank you.Three all three seven, one three eight
two five five. Let's talk toBridget. Bridget, what's what's going on
with your time share? Hello?Tom, So, just recently, very
recently, my husband passed away, and prior to that we were trying to

(01:56:26):
get rid of a time share, and so we never went fell through went
through with it, and so we'reI'm at the point now where I've just
paid the maintenance fee and I'm Idon't want to keep this. The maintenance
CITEA actually isn't too bad at all. It's eight sixty three sixty and we've
had it for twenty two years andso and it's in the Westgate in Vegas.

(01:56:56):
So what is it good for aweek? Is it good for a
week? It's good for one week. But because of the location, we've
been to different states in different places. No, I understand. But as
far as this goes, though,it's good for a week, and you
have maintenance? Did you have youever had any other expenses with it?
No? What would you say?Your total maintenance has been over twenty two

(01:57:19):
years? Oh my, okay,so let's say it's just roughly yeah,
would it be about thirty thousand?Maybe? And so what are you looking
to get out of it? Becauseyou're they don't have any value? Yeah,
I don't want anything out of it. I just want to be released

(01:57:40):
from the deed. I want toget out of the deed. Okay,
listen to it. Well, you'renot in a terrible situation because you don't
owe money. What I mean isthis, You really own it free and
clear, although you're you know youhave to pay maintenance. So it's not
going to be as difficult for youto get out of it as people who
owe money on it. Okay,so it's going to be easier. Now

(01:58:03):
here's the thing, though, whatyou want to make sure you do when
you do get out of it isget out of it without recourse. You
do not want to have to takeit back if someone you sell it to
or give it to, Like ifyou sell it for a dollar or give
it to somebody, that sounds likeyou're out of it, but not,

(01:58:24):
No, you're not. They UsuallyThat's why I call it financial herpies.
You never really get away from it. Even though you don't have an outbreak.
Somebody might take it over. Ifthey ever go belly up, they
come back to you. You needto get out of it without that,
Without that stipulation. You need toget the developer to release you from liability.

(01:58:45):
Now there's a good chance they'll takethis back off. All you want
to do is sign it over tothem. There's a very good chance.
Have you asked them outright if theywould take it back, Tom, I
haven't been in touch with or anyoneat all. Okay, the first thing
I want you to do before anything. Okay, we do have a great
attorney on the referral list that doesan honest job of getting people out of

(01:59:10):
time shares. But it costs fourto five thousand regular minimum and it could
be but but you don't need topay that. Probably if you can call
them and say, look, Ihave a paid off condo or whatever it
is, I have been there andI'm not going to use it. I'd
like to sign it back to youand not have any recourse in the future.

(01:59:30):
I do not want anyone coming backto me. And obviously you'd want
an attorney to look over any releasethey send you. But I have a
feeling if you call them, you'rein a position where they might take it.
Great to try that first, butdon't sign anything until we have an
attorney look at it. So trythat first. If they won't voluntarily take

(01:59:55):
it back, and you shouldn't haveto pay them to do that. If
they won't do it, then we'regoing to have to go to our timeshare
attorney on the web on the referrallist. Okay, and who is she?
Tom? You mean as far asthat attorney, Yeah, what's his

(02:00:15):
name? It's the Finn Law Group, Finn f I n N. It's
the Finn Law Group. And you'llfind him on the referral list. He's

I may or may not. Letme see Finn Law group. I just

Valor Roofing and one Solar that youshould avoid, in my opinion, at
all costs when it comes to solar. I'm not speaking to Valor as a
roofer because we've not gotten complaints aboutthem as a roofer. I want to

(02:02:19):
be fair here, but they seemto be in bed with bad people when
it comes to solar systems. Theguy said he was going to call,
He wanted to come on the show. He was adamant about it. I
even said, I'll stop talking aboutit till you come on. I gave
him a week. Valor Roofing isthe one selling the system. So in

(02:02:42):
my opinion, they're as bad asone solar because one solar is the screwjob.
Valor is the one selling the screwjob. So therefore, what do you
get? One two punch. Iwish it wasn't this way, but when
I look up on my records oneSolar, I find nothing but trouble.

(02:03:09):
Okay, I'm gonna search here, just a blind search. I'm gonna go
to Valor. Listen to this one. This is Beth. Listen to this
one. Beth and her husband signedup with Valor Roofing in July for a
fifty four thousand dollars system. Theydon't have the income to qualify for the

(02:03:30):
tax credit. The system was installedby One Solar and it's being financed through
good Leap. This is all thesame characters, okay, but she says
they never signed a purchaser financing agreement. She's pissed at the entire process,

(02:03:50):
and the system is inoperative. Now, obviously, if they can't use the
tax credit, that's a problem. But they can sell those tax credits or
carry them forward. But you know, I'm not saying that that's a problem
with Valor, except don't you thinkValor and One Solar have a responsibility to

(02:04:16):
explain all this to an older couple? And then what about the system being
an operative? What did we getwhen we contacted someone about this problem over
there? And what did we get? Crickets? Now, let's have another
problem here. I'm going to lookat another one. Oh, here's one

(02:04:38):
Valor roofing and Solar sold them asystem that does not work. This is
Jack back in July of twenty twentytwo. Back then, and then we
have Lloy and Alexis who bought theone that can't be activated because it's got
to be off grid. In Octobertwenty twenty two, paid fifty five four

(02:05:00):
thousand. Again, during the applicationprocess, they did not file the proper
paperwork, even though they say theydid. One Solar refused to get the
auxiliary the supplemental report that that wasrequired by Excel. They would have found
out that they can't go forward, but instead rushed forward. Yeah, so

(02:05:26):
basically, you know what, youmake your own conclusion. Okay, make
your own conclusion. Valor roofing andsolar and one solar stay away. In
my opinion, Greg, what's goingon with you? Greg? Hi?

(02:05:46):
Tom Hey, My sister, herhusband's recently they owned a timeshare in South
Carolina and they paid the maintenance throughthe rest of the year. I have
seen different companies that will advertise tosell your time share, but they're anywhere

(02:06:09):
between six hundred to two thousand dollars. All they're all liars and cheeters.
Not one of them will do it, not one of them. If you
pay them four to six hundred dollars. They may give you the illusion they're
selling it. They're not selling anything, and you're still on the hook.
And if anything goes wrong with anyonethey sign it over to they come back
to you. It is not atrue sale, and in some cases you

(02:06:30):
get nothing. Do not do.No one wants to buy your time share
at all. They're useless, valuelesspieces of crap. They're financial herpies.
No one wants them, no one, No one wants The actual resort said
that they would buy it back fortwo hundred and fifty dollars. They're no

(02:06:51):
longer selling time shares. They've gota hotel and a time share combination.
But they say they would take itback from my sister, releaser of everything,
for a fee of two hundred andfifty dollars. Wait, they want
to charge her. Yes, that'scheap. No, that's cheap because if

(02:07:13):
you hire a really good company likethe fin Law Group, it's going to
cost money. So if you cantruly get the developer truly to release you
for the two fifty, you gotto look at the agreement first and make
sure, because let me tell youabout releases, most of the time with
a timeshare, you are not beingreleased. They are taking it off your

(02:07:42):
hands. But they were, butthey have recourse against you. Let's say
they place it with someone else whostops paying. They can go back to
you, so make sure there isno recourse against her. Yeah, I'll
have an attorney look at it.I'll ask them to send through. I'll

(02:08:03):
also see if they can't reduce thatfee because they're going to turn it into
a hotel room. And hey, listen, even if they don't reduce the
fee, that is truly not abad thing. If they do it.

nine two zero sixteen twenty two.Hi Tom Martine here, three oh three
seven one three talks seven one threeeight two five five. Dave wants to
talk about selling a car. HeyDave, what's going on? Hey Tom?
I'm embarrassed to say this. I'mforty seven years old and I've never

(02:09:35):
done a private party car sale before. I have all car I want to
sell. I don't know how todo it. How many miles on this
nineteen ninety eight Mercury sabled one hundredand thirty thousand miles and it drives?
Is it in good shape? Badshape? In between shape? Let's be
straight here. I think it's infair to good shape. It was a

(02:10:01):
particular driver before I got a companycar. How much do you want for
it? I don't even know howmuch to ask? How many miles did
he say it had? One hundredand some Yeah, one hundred and thirty
thousand nineteen ninety eight. Well, let me ask you something. Why do

(02:10:24):
you want to sell it? BecauseI have a company car now that I
drive for everything, and it's justsitting on my property. I don't need
it anymore. Okay, Now wedon't know your name, so don't feel
pressured. Have you ever thought aboutdonating it. I've heard you the other

(02:10:46):
day talk about donating it to thatfamily that you're sponsoring. Well, I'm
sponsoring more than one. But I'mjust listen, man, I don't want
to And I'm serious when I tellyou this. I'm not getting any thing
personal of this, and I'm nottrying to hit anybody up. I'm just
curious if you ever thought about it, and I promise you I don't think
any less of you. If youneed to get money out of it,

(02:11:07):
how much all of that? Truly, I was just curious. I would
consider it. I just need toknow, Like, I don't even know
how to do that. Okay,do you own it free and clear?
Let me tell you how to doa sale. If you did this free
and clear, you get the title. It's this easy. You do a
bill of sale for the honest priceand you sign it over to the person

(02:11:31):
with the VEN number on it.You can get the form from the state
and then you take your title andsign it over and that's it. It's
that easy. But you have tomake sure you get real money and not
funny money, because there's so manyscams out there, so many people trying
to scam you. So that's howyou do it? Where do I advertise?

(02:11:54):
Well, that's the problem, that'swhere the scams come. You go
to you know, just recently gotso fed up he sold it to a
dealer. He was going to sellhis son's car, and he went.
I think you go to like Craigslistand Facebook, marketplace, all the normal
stuff. It's all free normally, right, But here's the problem. Almost

(02:12:15):
every call you gets going to bea scam, a text or a call.
They're gonna want to I don't knowif they're all scams. Now,
every once in a while you willget someone legit, but you have to
take the time to ferret through themand figure out which one is which.
The only time I would even considerit, it is nothing off of if

(02:12:35):
you do Facebook and if you doCraigslist, don't do anything off of there
with direct emails to each other. What you do is you meet them at
a bank. Period. They cansee the car, and you can go
to their bank and get cash forwhatever check they write. The only way
period, no other way, noother way. If they want to pay

(02:12:56):
cash and forego the bank, eatin a public place or at a public
place and bring someone with you.Tom, I would just meet it my
bank. If they're paying cash, well, if they're paying cash, yes,
that's a good idea because it's apublic place and you can put the
right in right right away, right. But if they're paying by checks,
you go to their bank. It'sthat easy. Never ever, ever,

(02:13:18):
any other way, no matter whatthey say. But but listen, how
much are they worth? I don'tknow. Come on, Kevin, it's
a fifteen, all right, Sowhat if they want to test drive it?
Well, it's all a challenge becausethere's trust involved. You know what,

(02:13:39):
everyone's going to want to test driveit. That's why you should donate.
I'm just kidding. I'm just I'mjust kidding. Insurance on it right
now? Can someone test drive it? If I have no insurance? Nope,
you'd be liable. Shoot, letme take that off here, let
me take that off your hands.Listen, listen, I'll tell you what.

(02:14:03):
If you want to sell it,you can't let him test drive it
with assurance. You can, butyou're going to your ass is on the
line for anything that happens to it. So you need someone who has the
wherewithal to get that car, geta tempt tag? Get it sure.
In fact, here's what's something youneed to know. Do you have plates

(02:14:24):
on it? Yeah, it's gotplates. Okay, how good are the
plates to when? Uh? WithActually I have it parked with the state.
It's good till may. Okay, when you say good till may,
that's your plate right now, right, Never ever sell that with the plate
on it, ever, no matterwho you sell it to. And if

(02:14:46):
somebody says, well I need theplate in order to go, you don't.
In Colorado, you do not needa temp tag. As long as
you have a bill of sale withyou in the car along with something else.
There's a way to sell it,and there's a way to they can
transport it. Yeah, but listen, man, leave your name in number
and uh and see and and we'llsee if we can help you. And

(02:15:09):
maybe I can get you some cashand let you know what I can find
out. Let me try to figurethis out. Uh, And then I
can do everything here. Yeah,I can do everything for you, and
I won't pressure you. Listen.I'm serious though, If anyone listening,
and and I don't I have morethan one family. But you know,
and I went to court. Bythe way, this one family I went

(02:15:31):
with court yesterday. They got theirasylum temporary asylum. Now what happens is
you go and you get temporary asylumand then you have to come back for
a permanent hearing and they want tomake sure you're working and not doing anything
wrong. But but any anyway,Hey Tom, just good. Where are
they from Venezuela. Yeah, seea lot of people from Venezuela came and

(02:15:56):
they were put on a bus tohear. And then I'm just gonna be
straight with you here, the cityjust drop. They don't do anything for
it. Well, they've been doingtemporary housing and other stub So when the
mayor comes out and says they needall this money and they're cutting back services,
I think he's using them as anexcuse because they're not doing anything.
I mean, I mean, butI mean, they're not doing anything I

(02:16:18):
know of. I mean, youknow, I know families and not one
of them is getting any help.So I don't know what where who's getting
help. I'd like to know it'snot the people that want to work,
not people who want to do somethingwith their lives, because they're not getting
help. So who's being helped withall this money they're cutting back? I
want to know. I'd love toget the mayor on this show, but
he would never come on this showbecause I'd ask real questions. I wouldn't

(02:16:43):
stroke him like Channel nine or allthese other people, they all have a
little love fest with him. Imean, this guy is a clown.
Actually I shouldn't say that. Iwouldn't assume he was a clown. If
he wants to come on the showand talk about this, I honest a
guy would love to talk to him, and you know this is probably the
one audience where he'd really get someheadway. I want to know, what

(02:17:05):
are you doing to help? CanI help you help? You know?
Let's get word out about these programs. I think people who want to help
themselves should be helped a little, but not a lot if you help them
too much. This is what Ifound out over these last several months here.
If you help someone too much, they don't help themselves. It doesn't
matter how good they are, it'sa natural tendency. They start depending on

(02:17:26):
it. I got to take abreak. More coming up
