Aaron Carter has come a long way since his self-titled debut album and the following Aaron's Party (Come Get It). Aaron was just 10 and 13 years old when he released those records, and now, the 29-year-old has released a brand new EP called LØVË, self-produced (along with his producing partner Lindgren) and written collection of five songs that landed him a major record deal with Sony Music.
LØVË shows tremendous growth for Aaron as the melodic songs on the set touch upon several different genres including pop, dance and even a little R&B, and led by his single "Sooner or Later," an addictive tropical pop song.
LØVË Inspiration & Releasing New Music
LØVË is the first original music released on a major label that we've heard in a while from Aaron. A few years ago, he put together his EP The Music Never Stopped, which he released digitally via SoundCloud, and his last full-length album, Another Earthquake, was released in 2002 — 15 years ago.
Now, it looks like the singer/songwriter/producer is set to give fans another new album, starting with this EP. He tells iHeartRadio of taking the time in between to officially release music, "What took me so long was a lot of things. It will probably be coming out in my book in just a couple of years."
Aaron says of his new music, "If I could describe it in one word [it would be] 'transcend'" and that the EP is "all about bad love.'"
A Full-Length Album Is On The Way
Aaron has been hard at work in the studio constantly creating, and tells us, "Being back in the studio was like the day before it, because I never actually left the studio. I always stayed in it and always kept working and perfecting my craft. And that's why I was able to get to where I am at today because I kept with it."
All of this time spent in the studio will yield a full-length album at some point for Aaron. So if fans were excited about this new EP, they can look forward to Aaron's first LP in 15 years in the future. Plus, he remixed and reproduced one of his most well-known singles, the classic "I Want Candy" from his 2000 Aaron's Party (Come Get It) album. "My favorite song from back in the day, I would have to say is, 'I Want Candy' and that's why I re-did it."
His Favorite Fan Story
Over the last 17 years, Aaron has gained a huge following of fans and recalled one of his most memorable fan stories ever. It involves a fan who climbed up his hotel building and into his room ... and there was a casualty of hair involved. Aaron's hair. He remembers:
"I was in Argentina, South America and I was throwing paper airplanes with my autograph out of the hotel room to the fans below, and they started getting really crazy, and they came up and they told me to get out of the window. And I did, and then one of the fans decided she was gonna [climb] 40 stories up to my room. Comes in my room, rips out of my hair, says a bunch of [things], rips out my hair and runs out. It's great. Enjoy that hair."
