Watch Corey Taylor Perform Piano Tribute To Late Bandmate Paul Gray

Corey Taylor paid tribute to his former Slipknot bandmate Paul Gray on what would have been his 46th birthday on April 8th, who died in 2010. The Stone Sour and Slipknot frontman posted a heartfelt and touching tribute to his late friend with a piano performance uploaded to his Instagram account. "Happy Birthday.#2," Taylor captioned the post in reference to Gray's number assigned to each member of Slipknot. The singer can be seen playing the somber piano composition at his home. Gray passed away due to a morphine overdose on May 24, 2010, and was a founding member of the Grammy Award-winning group.

After his death in 2010, the band held a press conference without their masks to give their parting words about Gray. "He was kind of the person in the band that really wanted everybody in the band to always get along and just concentrate on the band," Slipknot member Shawn Crahan A.K.A. Clown said. "He was a really great friend and just a great person. He's going to be sadly missed, and the world is going to be a different place without him."

This year, Gray's family filed a wrongful death lawsuit against the physician for continually writing high-dose prescription narcotics to the late bassist, knowing that he was struggling with drug addiction. The family reached a settlement with Daniel Baldi, former employees, and the hospital company UnityPoint-Des Moines.

Corey Taylor has been keeping himself very busy and when he's not contributing to Skid Row's new EP or performing with 'Supernatural' Star Jensen Ackles, he's working on Slipknot's upcoming sixth album. "The guys are writing tons of music and I've written lyrics to almost all of it," he told Billboard. "We're going to start trying to put together demos here and there with the time off that I have and really try to get ahead of the curve as far as what happens next."
