Well here's a new one: armpit smelling while being interviewed. Yes, this actually happened! To Shawn Mendes.
Shawn is currently promoting his two new songs he recently released, "In My Blood" and "Lost In Japan," as the star prepares to drop his forthcoming third studio album. And while being interviewed by Swedish television host Martin Björk, things got a little ... weird. Or smelly, shall we say?
Martin had asked Shawn Mendes a series of random questions, but at the very end, Björk asked if he could sniff Shawn's armpit, and the 19-year-old obliged and allowed him to do so. We're betting this is (hopefully) a first for Shawn. And it seemed like Martin really enjoyed himself, because after the sniff seen 'round the world, he looked at the camera and said, "F*** that was good!"
Hmmm. Can't tell...
how Shawn felt...
about this...
Other highlights from the interview include which one of Shawn's body parts he's most proud of (his ears), what he never wants to hear in bed (stories about parents, which he says thankfully he has never heard), and more.
And it appears that Martin isn't the only Shawn Mendes fan who has an armpit fetish. After a fan account posted the clip of the armpit sniff, fellow fans quickly responded:
Shawn has an exciting year ahead as he is releasing the followup to 2016's Illuminate. "In My Blood" is the very first taste of Shawn's upcoming, highly anticipated third studio album, and was co-produced by Shawn himself and Teddy Geiger (who has worked with Shawn on his previous albums), and co-written by both, along with longtime collaborators Scott Harris and Geoff Warburton.
In a note to fans just before the song's release, Shawn wrote on Instagram, "Just wanted to write this note before the song comes out tonight and say how excited I am for you all to hear it. I know I've been pretty quiet during this album process, and I just wanted to thank you with all of my heart for being there and supporting me the entire time. This song is the closest song to my heart that I've ever written, and I hope you guys love it, and all the new music coming your way."
And the day "In My Blood" was released, Shawn watched some amazing fan reaction videos while visiting iHeartRadio HQ. Check it out below.
