Shawn Mendes is sharing all the deets about his bromance with Justin Timberlake.
The Canadian pop star reminisced about his experience at the 2018 iHeartRadio Music Festival in Las Vegas on The Tonight Show this week. During his appearance, the "I Know What You Did Last Summer" crooner teased host Jimmy Fallon about his new friendship with JT after he invited Mendes onstage to sing "What Goes Around...Comes Around" during his live set at the annual music event.
"We're actually pretty good friends now," the 20-year-old said with a grin, which Fallon returned with a jealous smirk as if he didn't hear the remark. Fallon then pulled out an image of the musicians onstage at the concert, and asks sarcastically, "How was that, was it fun?"
(Spoiler: it totally was!)
"It's gotta be, to pose for a picture with him. … I know he likes you," Fallon added, to which the crooner replied in agreeance. "You know what's funny? It’s really rare for him to bring people on stage, he must really like me," Mendes quipped back, sending them both into spates of laughter.
Mendes' career-defining moment came last Saturday (September 22) when Timberlake opened the second night of the festival.
"I'm a big fan of this young man. He's one of the coolest cats I've ever met," the 37-year-old said of Mendes before the set, which ended with a brotherly hug.
