Brendon Urie Gets Nostalgic About His Fondest Video Game Memory

Earlier this month, Brendon Urie presented the award for Best Video Game Score at the Game Awards, and while he was there Variety caught up with the Panic! At The Disco frontman about his fondest video game memory.

“The first time me and my sister split [the] cost of a used Super Nintendo, and it came with one game,” the singer explained. “It was Sonic Blast Man and I played the hell out of that thing. I still love going back to that game, it’s fun.”

Urie's involvement with the video game industry award show shouldn't come as a surprise. Aside from making music, the 31-year-old is passionate about gaming. In fact, he has his own Twitch channel and recently debuted a metal version of his band's 2010 track, "The Calendar," on it.

Yes, you read that right. Brendon Urie recorded a metal version of a Panic! At The Disco song. During a recent interview with Rock Sound, he divulged that he'd been dabbling in the genre.

“I want to do a metal project in particular,” he confessed. “I actually just played something for my bandmates recently — We have an old song called ‘The Calendar’ and I made a metal version of it from years back. It’s like 90 seconds long and is really fun."
