Pete Davidson is trying his best to move on from the trauma of yesteryears with his comedy chops.
As per Variety's new interview with the Saturday Night Live cast mate at the Sundance Film Festival, Davidson is a man of self-reflection even when it comes to the low points in his life. "I love Park City, Utah, because the last time I was here, I was in rehab," he joked to the outlet with a beer in-hand during the chat alongside his Big Time Adolescence co-stars. "It's nice to be on the other side of it and, also it speaks wonders to your rehab facilities." Davison checked in the Cirque Lodge treatment center four years ago.
Elsewhere in the interview in promotion for the film, which premieres today, the 25-year-old star poked fun at his disappearance from social media. Asked if he was done with the blogosphere altogether, he said, "Yeah, I can't go on that for obvious reasons." Additionally, it seems like his advice to youth getting tormented by online bulling is as black and white as it gets. "Just don't go online. I don't think online is good. It doesn't make me very happy. Whenever I'm having a good day and I go online, it immediately is just not ... even if it's not about me," he replied. It's no secret that Davidson has been struggling with his mental health for some time, particularly after he and Ariana Grande announced their October 2018 split. Flash forward to December, it was reported that the star was focusing on his mental health issues and well-being. Since sharing his fragile state in a since-deleted suicide note on Instagram, friends and family members stepped up to the plate to support Davidson.
