Frank Iero and his new band, the Future Violents, had their South America tour cut short when their band leader came down with "a pretty nasty case of laryngitis and a brutal sinus infection."
The former My Chemical Romance guitarist wrote a lengthy note to fans on Instagram, while two of his band members explained that they would have to postpone their Mexico tour dates because a local doctor advised Frank not to fly for a few days.
"dear frends, i am beyond gutted to have to break this news to you... after our show in Sรฃo Paolo i started to feel a bit under the weather but thought i could kick it with some vitamins and a little rest. however, i was wrong and it progressed into a pretty nasty case of laryngitis and a brutal sinus infection," Frank explained in the message. "after two flights i made it to mexico city and was able to see a doctor here, but he informed me that i should not fly again for at least a day and half and that we should postpone the remaining shows."
"I do not take postponing shows lightly, i know that when we book a gig and you buy a ticket that is an agreement between us that i have every intention of following through with," he continued. "however, ever since my accident in sydney my body reacts in different ways and i unfortunately am not able to recover as quickly as i once did. this particular case really knocked me out and i truly apologize but i have to listen to my body and what the doctors are telling me. i promise to get back out to Mexico as soon as humanly possible and make it up to all of you. iโm so sorry this happened and i hope you can understand. ๐คxofrnk"
