Sharon Osbourne is getting candid about her years-long struggle with depression.
The 66-year-old spoke on her mental health troubles and how these woes nearly brought her to suicide not once, but three times in her life. Sharon, initially light-hearted on the matter, turned serious when opening up about the three separate occasions in which she attempted to take her own life during Tuesday's episode (April 30) of The Talk.
“I was joking about this but I shouldn’t — talking about my depression,” the co-host explained to her fellow panelists Sara Gilbert, Sheryl Underwood, Eve, and Carrie Ann Inaba. “And it’s like, you know saying, ‘Oh, the first time I tried to kill myself was okay, the second, all right, the third time, oye!’”
“But it’s like, I’m still here. I still do what I do and you struggle,” she continued. “I wish everybody could think flowers and daisies and princesses, but you can’t.”
It's not the first time Sharon has disclosed her woes with depression to the public. On a 2014 episode of The Talk, she bravely revealed she'd been taking medication for the past 16 years to alleviate her mental health issues. "Some days are better than others," she said at the time, "and some days you feel like you just want to pull the sheets over your head and just stay in that bed and not do a damn thing except rot."
