'Game Of Thrones' Star Checks Into Wellness Facility For 'Personal Issues'

Kit Harington has reportedly checked into a facility for mental health purposes, Page Six has learned.

On Tuesday (May 28), the outlet reported that the Game of Thrones star had entered Privé-Swiss, a wellness center in Connecticut, due to stress and alcohol, supposedly in light of the finale of his hit HBO medieval fantasy series, which came to a close with its eighth and final season on May 19. However, the article denotes Harington entered treatment weeks before the final episode aired.

“Kit has decided to utilize this break in his schedule as an opportunity to spend some time at a wellness retreat to work on some personal issues,” his rep confirmed to Page Six.

Sources also told the publication the 32-year-old "has been undergoing psychological coaching, practicing mindful meditation and cognitive behavioral therapy to combat stress and deal with negative emotions."

As you know, Harington is one of the leading stars of Game of Thrones, on which he portrayed the beloved character Jon Snow, for eight years. According to one of the entertainer's close friends, the reality of the show's conclusion took an emotional toll on him.

“The end of GoT really hit Kit hard… He realized ‘this is it — this is the end’, it was something they had all worked so hard on for so many years. He had a moment of, what next?” Harington's friend supposedly told Page Six. “He’s in the clinic predominantly for stress and exhaustion and also alcohol."

Harington is also being comforted by his wife, fellow Game of Thrones actress Rose Leslie, whom he married last year after years of dating. The friend adds that Leslie "is being extremely supportive" of her husband has he seeks to better his mental health. "Everyone close to him really wanted him to get some rest. Right now, he just needs peace and quiet.”
