St. Louis Blues Defeat Boston Bruins To Win First Ever Stanley Cup

The St. Louis Blue have won the Stanley Cup for the first time in franchise history. They defeated the Boston Bruins by a score of 4-1 in game 7 at TD Garden in Boston.

The Blues were being outplayed in the first period but managed to score two late goals from Ryan O'Reilly and Alex Pietrangelo to take a 2-0 lead . The Blues took a 3-0 lead halfway through the third period on a goal by Brayden Schenn and then made it 4-0 four minutes later when Zach Sanford scored his first goal of the playoffs.

The Bruins avoided a shutout with a goal by Matt Grzelcyk with just over two minutes left.

Ryan O'Reilly was named the Conn Smythe Trophy winner.
