Noel Gallagher is never one to disappoint when it comes to interviews, and during a recent chat with The Guardian, the former Oasis singer once again gave us a treasure trove of absolutely ridiculous quotes slamming his brother and former bandmate Liam.
“Interviews are an occupational hazard," he said bluntly. "You’re sat in a room with some guy from Stockholm who you’ve never met and he’s asking you about your mum. It’s f**king preposterous. Because the honest answer to that is: ‘What’s it got to do with you?’ But the smart answer is always: ‘I liked her until she gave birth to Liam.’”
As for his brother's music, Noel had some unsurprisingly unkind things to say. “I think it’s unsophisticated music. For unsophisticated people. Made by an unsophisticated man. Who’s giving unsophisticated orders to a load of songwriters who think they’re doing the Oasis thing,” he said.
In June, Liam announced his sophomore solo album Why Me? Why Not., which is slated for a September 20 release.
Noel also recently announced a new EP with his band Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds. This Is the Place is set to come out just a week after his brother's project, on September 27. He'll also be heading out on tour with Smashing Pumpkins later this week. Check out a full list of dates here.
