Ashley Graham Mom-Shamed For Changing Her Baby's Diaper In Public

Back in January, Ashley Graham and her husband Justin Ervin welcomed their son Isaac into the world. Since Isaac's birth, Graham has been super candid with her fans and followers about the realities of new motherhood. One of those moments came when she took Isaac to Staples with her and she had to deal with a diaper emergency. The store had no public restrooms or changing tables, so, Graham had to change Isaac's dirty diaper on the floor.

"S**t just got real! First diaper blow up while running errands with no restroom in sight!" Graham captioned the candid shot. "Thank God I remembered to put the changing mat in the diaper bag!!!"

Though Graham's friends were quick to applaud the new mom in her comments—Amy Schumer wrote "that's a queen right there"—she was quickly mom-shamed by many of her followers. "Normal people would have at least taken the kid out to the car to change them instead of stinking up half the store if there wasn’t a restroom. This is just rude to everyone else in the store. Especially the employees. You didn’t even go to a corner of the store. Just smack dab in the middle of the store," one person wrote.

"This has nothing to do with publicly breastfeeding, a mom/baby right I fully support. But this isn’t ok and not mom shaming... it’s common courtesy. You should have left your items and went to the car to change him. This was more convenient for YOU but really inconsiderate to others. Your world may revolve around your son but the world does not. It’s hard when you realize that as a mom but it’s true. He would have been fine for 5 min while you walked to the car to change him," another chimed in.

Not only was Graham shamed by her followers, Wendy Williams criticized the Instagram post on her show, as well. "I don't like what she did. Now, as a mother, you hate it when you go places and there are no changing tables… So she's in Staples with her 7-week-old son… and he does an explosive. So she changed that in the aisle," Williams said. "Personal speaking, I don't want to see that. If you’re taking your 7-week-old baby to Staples, you’re watching the baby more than you’re watching where the Sharpies and rings of paper, and cartridges for your printer are... I just wish she would’ve done something different. This is not cool and I don't know why we have to know about it on your Instagram."

Graham didn't respond to the criticism, however, she's got a ton of supportive friends in her corner. In addition to Schumer's praise, Sara Foster wrote "we've all been there" and Katie Jane Hughes called Graham "mom goals."
