Even though Prince William and Kate Middleton are reportedly taking Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's decision to step from their official positions in the Royal Family "badly," Queen Elizabeth seems to be taking the whole thing in stride. There was some drama, of course—the Sussexes' weren't happy about being unable to use their titles or the word 'royal' in any of their branding—but Her Majesty is doing her best to make sure Harry, Meghan and Archie know they're still "much loved" members of her family.
Not only did Queen Elizabeth invite Prince Harry over for a four-hour-long lunch while he was in town recently, she invited his family to spend time with her in Scotland over the summer. According to The Sunday Times, Harry and Meghan "are believed to have accepted the Queen’s invitation to visit her this summer at Balmoral, her Scottish retreat, and are planning to take their son with them."
Her Majesty is likely delighted the Sussexes' have accepted her invitation. Unfortunately, Harry and Meghan decided to leave Archie in Canada for their recent trip to London out of an abundance of caution during the ongoing global pandemic, so, Her Majesty didn't get to spend any time with her great grandson. According to a royal insider, the Queen's "worst fear" about Harry's decision to move his family abroad "is that she may never see Archie again." Prince Charles and Duchess Camilla are also reportedly eager to see more of Archie in Scotland this summer.
While Harry and Meghan are expected to attend Princess Beatrice's upcoming wedding in May, it's unclear whether Archie will join them. He'd certainly make an adorable ring bearer—especially if his cousins Princess Charlotte, Prince Louis and Prince George joined him, too!
