Andy Cohen has been diagnosed with coronavirus.
The Watch What Happens Live host announced the unfortunate news on social media on Friday (March 20). Per the post, Cohen had been feeling unwell amid days spent in self-quarantine before testing positive for COVID-19.
“After a few days of self-quarantine, and not feeling great, I have tested positive for Coronavirus,” he captioned a photo from bed. “As much as I felt like I could push through whatever I was feeling to do #WWHL from home, we’re putting a pin in that for now so I can focus on getting better. I want to thank all the medical professionals who are working tirelessly for all of us, and urge everybody to stay home and take care of themselves.”
Prior to disclosing his diagnosis, the first-time father and Bravo exec had been sharing daily photos with his one-year-old son, Benjamin, from home, where Cohen is currently filming Watch What Happens Live via video chat after suspending production for the show earlier this month.
Cohen is just the latest star to contract the wide-spreading disease, which is quickly approaching 20,000 cases in the United States and over 260 deaths.
However, the 51-year-old isn’t alone in battling the disease. Tom Hanks, Rita Wilson, Idris Elba, Kristofer Hivju, Caroline Polachek, and a myriad of other stars have been diagnosed with COVID-19.
