Little Women: LA star Christy McGinity is mourning the death of her two-week-old daughter.
In a statement to PEOPLE magazine, the reality star and her boyfriend Gonzalo Justo Carazo broke the devastating news that their baby girl, Violet Eva Carazo, who was born seven weeks premature, had died on March 20. “It is with our deepest sorrow that we send our baby girl Violet Eva Carazo to play with the angels. We were able to spend two weeks with our sweet baby girl and for that we are forever thankful,” the couple shared. “Please respect our privacy during this difficult time. Your thoughts and prayers are very much appreciated.”
As McGinity’s rep confirmed to the outlet, the pair welcomed Violet on March 6, at 33 weeks. She measured at 15 inches and weighed 3 lbs. 15 oz. at the time of her arrival. As of yet, no cause of death has been revealed.
The loss comes six months after the duo first announced they were expecting a child in September 2019. “I’m so excited that we are having a baby. What a big blessing. Good things come to those who wait.” the 42-year-old captioned a picture of Carazo kissing her baby bump at the time. “Our bundle of joy is coming April 2020.”
Just a week before losing Violet, Carazo had wished his daughter a “Happy One Week Old Birthday.” Along with a heartfelt snap of the duo fawning on their daughter at the hospital, he wrote, "Thank U for making me a Dad and bringing me an entire new perspective during your first week of Life. We love you so much!"
