Local AZ Labs Facing Backlog With Hundreds of COVID-19 Tests Not Processed

Some patients are waiting more than a week for results as coronavirus tests have been backlogged. Unfortunately, a shortage in vital materials to conduct testing is not helping the wait times.

There have been reports of several patients who say they were tested and still waiting for Sonora Quest (a local AZ lab) to process their results.

As of Wednesday, Sonora Quest assured patients they are now processing tests at their Tempe lab for a quicker turnaround.

A spokesperson for the lab said there is a backlog of about 1,100 tests.
