Blood Suppliers around the valley in dire need of blood donors

According to a new report, over 200 blood drives have been canceled in the state amid growing coronavirus concerns and more need to social distance. However, the U.S. Surgeon General has declared blood donation an essential function.

AZ Family caught up with Dr. Ralph Assallo with Vitalant, formerly known as United Blood Services, and he says,

“We face a potential national blood shortage if we don’t have donors coming in,” said Dr. Assallo.

Blood suppliers are making sure valley residents know that safety is their main concern when running any sort of blood drive.
