Jennifer Lopez and Alex Rodriguez’s marriage plans have been delayed due to the ongoing COVID-19 (coronavirus) pandemic.
According to Us Weekly, the couple was rumored to marry in Italy this summer but have since pushed back on their nuptials because of the worldwide crisis. Even so, the singer isn't wasting anytime tying the knot with Rodriguez once the coronavirus outbreak is resolved.
“It was all planned out and paid for,” a source told the outlet. “They obviously had to postpone it due to coronavirus, but J.Lo wants to marry A-Rod shortly after things go back to normal. She wants to marry him and celebrate their love in front of her family and close friends."
News of the setback comes just a week after the Wedding Planner actress spoke with Ellen DeGeneres via video chat about how COVID-19 has affected her wedding plans with the former baseball athlete.
“It did affect it a little bit, so we will see what happens now. Honestly, I really don't know what's going to happen now, as far as dates or anything like that,” Lopez admitted. “We're just kind of in a holding pattern like the rest of the world. So, again, it's something we're just going to have to wait and see (in) a few months how this all pans out."
As fans know, Rodriguez popped the question to the pop star in March 2019 with a massive sparkler during a romantic getaway overseas.
As of Wednesday (April 15), Italy has the third-highest number of confirmed coronavirus cases in the world at 162,488, and 21,067 people have died due to the disease.
