3-year-old gets dog parade for birthday amid coronavirus quarantine

A 3-year-old who is a huge animal lover got a dog parade for her birthday in North Carolina. Elizabeth Guthrie was surprised with dozens of these cute dogs at a safe distance during the coronavirus pandemic.

"I think everybody needed a pick-me-up, a little positivity," Mary Guthrie, a mom of two, told "Good Morning America." "This has been the biggest birthday of her life.”

Neighbors from all over the neighborhood came to wish her a “Happy Birthday” after she dropped invitations into mailboxes and placed a sign in their front yard.

Elizabeth herself doesn’t have a dog but loves playing with puppies and watching them.

"We really saw the effects of that yesterday which was really, really sweet," Guthrie’s mom said. "We have a full glass door -- she'll knock until they turn around.”

She loved seeing the dogs arrive in costumes and even some in cars.
