HAIM Practice Social Distancing In 'I Know Alone' Video

On Wednesday (April 29), HAIM shared a new song and video that both encapsulate "the new normal." The song was originally written to describe the feelings of loneliness the sisters feel after coming home from tour; however, it's also scarily relevant today with lyrics like “been a couple days since I’ve been out” and “cause nights turn into days that turn to grey.”

“’I Know Alone’ was always going to be the next song we released, but it feels eerily appropriate given what’s going on in the world right now,” the band says about the new single, “We hope this song keeps you company.”

HAIM also released a video to go with the song, in which the sisters dance six feet away from each other in an old outdoor basketball court. The stark routine was remotely choreographed by Jake Schreier (Chance The Rapper, Kanye West, Selena Gomez). Watch the "I Know Alone" video below.

When the coronavirus outbreak first began, HAIM postponed the release date of their third album, Women In Music Pt. III from its original April 24 date to "later this summer," but they've had a change of heart.

“Things were so crazy in the beginning when everything started happening that we didn’t think it felt appropriate to put out a new record," they explained. "Now that things have settled a bit in this quarantined life, we’ve talked about it more and think we could all use new music during this time so we’ve decided to move up the album to June 26.”

Aside from "I Know Alone," Women In Music Pt. III will also feature previously released tracks "Summer Girl," "Now I'm In It," "Hallelujah," and " The Steps."
