Tekashi 6ix9ine Announces First Event Since Being Released From Prison

Tekashi 6ix9ine is gearing up first his first virtual event since being released early from prison last month.

On Tuesday (May 5), the "FEFE" rapper took to Instagram to announce that he will be going live on the social media platform Friday (May 8) at 3 p.m EST. "Lets get this party started," he wrote. "Don’t get scared now 😩."

Last week, 6ix9ine teased the date, which is also his 24th birthday, writing on his Instagram Story: "You ready? May 8th." The cryptic post led to tons of fan speculation as many expressed their belief that 6ix9ine plans to release new music on Friday.

As fans know, a judge recently granted the 23-year-old rapper permission "to conduct employment-related activities outside of the residence but within the confines of the rented property." Meaning, he can now film music videos in his backyard while on house arrest.

In the legal documents, which were obtained by TMZ, the judge said Tekashi can now "perform employment-related activities for two hours per week and one specific day that needs advanced approval by the probation officer." He's also allowed to do work in his basement but it's "limited to no more than an 8-hour period per day" with a schedule also approved by the probation officer, the outlet reports.

The decision came weeks after 6ix9ine was granted a compassionate release from a New York facility — which allows him to serve the rest of his 2-year sentence from home — following fears of him possibly contracting the coronavirus while behind bars.

He was originally set to be released from prison on August 2.
