Rachel Lindsay isn’t satisfied with Hannah Brown’s apology for using a racial slur.
Over the weekend, Brown was called to task for using the N-word during an Instagram Live video. Considering you haven’t seen it, Brown was singing along to DaBaby’s “Rockstar” and had mouthed the hurtful word at one point throughout the clip. (Watch it here.)
After fans put her on blast for the slip, Brown took to her Instagram Stories with a note of apology. “I’m so sorry … I was singing a song, I’m so sorry,” Brown wrote, before expressing her disbelief. “I don’t think I said that word, but now I’m like… Oh god. I’ve never used that word. I’ve never called anybody that… You can think I’m something that I’m not, but I’m not that.”

Most fans weren’t buying Brown’s explanation, and neither was Lindsay, who slammed the 25-year-old for what appeared to be a passive response to a serious situation.
“It’s easy to make a statement. It’s easy to hide behind words, but when you’re bold enough to say the N-word on camera, on your platform… then you need to bold enough to use your face on camera and apologize in the same way you said the word,” the Bachelorette star expressed on Instagram, adding that she was "personally hurt and offended that I gave somebody the opportunity to do that, and it wasn't done."
“We can’t give people a pass for this. We have to hold people accountable for what they’re doing. … You should feel disgusted when you say that word. You should feel uncomfortable,” she went on, before explaining the deep-rooted harm the epithet causes people within the black community. “That word was used to make black people feel less than… and every time you use that word and you’re not black, you give that word power, and that is why it is wrong. Non-black people should not feel OK about saying the word n*****. It’s wrong.”
