It's the end of an era for Dancing With the Stars.
On Monday (July 13), ABC and BBC Studios announced hosts Tom Bergeron and Erin Andrews will be leaving the celebrity dance competition show. Bergeron has hosted the series since its inaugural season back in 2005, while Andrews joined him as co-host in 2014.
"Tom Bergeron will forever be part of the Dancing with the Stars family. As we embark on a new creative direction, he departs the show with our sincerest thanks and gratitude for his trademark wit and charm that helped make this show a success," ABC and BBC Studios wrote in a statement given to People.
"Erin will also not be returning, and we appreciate all that she brought to the ballroom," the statement continues. "Fans have been rooting for her since she originally competed as a contestant back in 2010, and her signature sense of humor has become a hallmark of the show."
Bergeron also shared the news on his Twitter account, revealing he was let go from the show rather than leaving of his own volition. "Just informed [Dancing with the Stars] will be continuing without me," he wrote. "It's been an incredible 15 year run and the most unexpected gift of my career. I'm grateful for that and for the lifelong friendships made. That said, now what am I supposed to do with all of these glitter masks?"
The upcoming season of DWTS is expected to premiere in the fall and will continue to hold a Monday 8 p.m. time slot on ABC's upcoming primetime schedule, however, it's unclear what the show will look like this year due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. ABC and BBC Studios have yet to announce when filming for the show will resume.
