How much would you spend for a pair of LeBron James' shoes?
The former Cleveland Cavalier is selling 97 of his game-worn shoes online to raise funds for the LeBron James Family Foundation. All of the shoes are size 15 and are from of the line he has with Nike. The listing for each shoe includes when James wore the pair, the team he was playing against, and his stats from the game. Most of the shoes were worn in 2016 or 2017.
For anyone who wants to wear a pair to see what it's like in King James' shoes, you're out of luck. Buyers will only be sent one shoe. The other shoe will be part of a wall a shoes at the foundation's I PROMISE school in Akron. The money raised from the shoe sale will go towards legal aid, medical care, a food pantry, and other resources available to students' families.
While a pair of Nike LeBrons range from hundreds to thousands of dollars depending on the size and style, these are from $15,000 to $30,000. Compared to other James memorabilia, the shoe prices are a drop in the bucket. A signed rookie card broke the Guinness World Record for the most expensive basketball trading card sold at an online auction. The buyer spent $1.845 million.
