Maren Morris Shares New Photos To Celebrate Five Months With Son Hayes

Maren Morris and her husband Ryan Hurd welcomed their first child, Hayes Andrew Hurd, in March of 2020. To celebrate five months with their baby boy, Morris turned to Instagram to share two new photos with fans.

The snaps, which were likely taken at the couple's home in Nashville, show the "Girl" singer holding her son in the air. With an adorable bucket hat on Hayes' head, Morris smiled at her son in the first photo and puckered her lips for a kiss in the second.

"5 months," Morris wrote in the caption along with several sparkle emojis.

Morris' post comes several weeks after after sharing that she will no longer share photos of her son's face on social media. The decision was made after receiving critical comments about a photo of her with Hayes relaxing on a float.

"I'm gonna be a little more private about [Hayes]," Morris said at the time. "It's been so fun sharing photos of him, but I feel like ... you know, I can take someone saying my music sucks or I'm ruining country music, but for some reason, the mother card, I can't emotionally handle right now. So I was like, 'I'm just gonna protect myself and him from it.'"

In addition to speaking out against mom-shaming, Morris has also recently opened up about the difficulties she faced both physically and emotionally after her "unintended" cesarean section to deliver her now 5-month-old son.

The country singer revealed she felt "really isolated" and "really lonely" following her son's birth because she didn't hear as many stories about c-sections as she hoped before going through one herself.

"I wish people talked more about their c-section stories because I felt, like a lot of mothers, really isolated, really lonely, right after because it was this unexpected major surgery I ended up getting," she shared.

Now, four months postpartum, Morris says she's feeling "a lot better" and feels like she's finally getting "back into her body." She's encouraging other new moms to be patient with themselves, adding, "Don't rush it."
