Stranger Things' Noah Schnapp Seemingly Uses Racial Slur In Viral Video

Noah Schnapp is facing backlash after a video appearing to show him using the N-word hit social media.

Last night (August 25), the hashtag #NoahScnappIsOverParty started trending on Twitter when a resurfaced clip from 2019 showed the Stranger Things star and his friends seemingly using the racial slur while singing a verse from Lil Dicky and Chris Brown’s 2018 song “Freaky Friday.”

Fans couldn’t believe what they were hearing and immediately called for the 15-year-old to be “canceled” for what sounded like him singing the N-word multiple times.

“Uh turns out noah schnapp said the n word after he said he prided himself that he’s never said it. stan burt hummel instead,” one user tweeted. Someone else wrote, “Not noah schnapp getting cancelled I thought he was actually a good person anyways deleting stranger things from my netflix list rn.”

Once the controversial video went viral, Schnapp eventually took to his Instagram Stories to deny ever saying the N-word, but still apologized for engaging in the singalong.

“Hi guys. recently a video from last summer has gotten out of me dancing and singing a song while singing the word ‘neighbor’ over the n word. i would truly never say the n word and i’m not that type of person,” he wrote. “I genuinely have never used that word in my life.”

He continued, “using the word ‘neighbor’ in that song was just something my camp friends and i did. I hope you all understand i could never even think about doing that. my friends also would never post a video, or support me, if i was saying that slur without hesitation. i apologize for using a replacement word. it is not my place to use one and i should of kept my mouth shut. i understand why it is found offensive and i am so sorry.”
