Floresville Peanut Festival Postponed For 2020, Two Scheduled For Next Year

In the midst of the global pandemic, another 2020 event has been postponed.

The 76th Annual Peanut Festival in Floresville will not take place this year due to health and safety concerns. The event usually brings in thousands of people each year to celebrate the importance of the peanut crop with fun, games, royalty, parades, and more.

The event has been pushed back from the second weekend in October to March 25-27 of next year. This means that there will be two festivals scheduled for next year.

The Peanut Festival board of directors said in announcement that there will still be a private event this year. A private coronation will be held as well as a mini peanut parade on October 10th, both of which are invitation only events.

The announcement stated, "We look forward to the community joining us at our rescheduled festival in the spring. Our goal is to provide the same safe, family-friendly festival experience to our community and visitors near and far."

More information will be released at a later date about the rescheduled event.

The Poteet Strawberry Festival, the State Fair of Texas, Wurstfest, Fiesta, and Oktoberfest in Fredericksburg have all been canceled this year as well due to COVID-19.
