Kelsea Ballerini Reflects On ‘Homecoming Queen’ Anniversary

It's been one year now since Kelsea Ballerini's emotional single, "homecoming queen" was released. To mark the song's anniversary, Ballerini turned to social media to reflect on what the song means to her and how proud she is of it.

"Wow...I can't believe homecoming queen has been out for a year," the country singer wrote on her Instagram Story alongside a collage of fans holding up signs that read, "Happy On Year of Homecoming Queen."

"Forever proud of this song and the journey it's had, and can't wait for you to hear the "ballerini" version of it on Friday," she added. "I love you guys. Keep dancin with your best foot forward."

Ballerini also marked the special occasion with a teaser video of the reimagined version a part of her upcoming new album, Ballerini.

"Hey, happy one year to homecoming queen. This song continues to mean more to me and challenges me to unfilter my life and emotions," she wrote in the caption. "It’s made me feel closer to myself and in turn, closer to you. I’m really excited for you to hear the new version on “ballerini” this Friday. here’s a little clip. 🤍"

Ballerini, due out on September 11, is a companion to her recent album, Kelsea. The project features all 13 songs on Kelsea with different keys, temps, melodies, lyrics and production. She altered each song intentionally to focus more on telling a story.

The country singer shared a first glimpse at the new album with the release of "club (ballerini album version)" last week. Ballerini will be out on September 11, and is available for fans to pre-order now. The new rendition of "homecoming queen?" can be previewed in the video below.
