State Fair Of Texas Fans Can Get Fried Oreos, Funnel Cake Shipped To Them

The State Fair of Texas is canceled, but Texans can still get fair food.

There will be the Big Tex Fair Food Drive-Thru later this month, but a Minnesota man has found a way to get fair favorites shipped to your house. Josh Zamansky is the creator of State Fair To Go, a meal kit box filled with ingredients and instructions to make fair staples. He teamed up with five of the vendors from the State Fair of Texas to create a Texas-specific box, the Dallas Morning News reported.

The company not only satisfies people's need for funnel cake and all things battered and fried, but it's helping out some of the vendors who make a good chunk of their income at the state fair.

“This is a huge windfall for me and my family during this very financially trying year. We normally depend on this particular State Fair for up to a third of our annual income," said Clint Probst, who is among the vendors supplying the goodies for the State Fair To Go boxes in Texas.

Zamansky told the newspaper that he got the idea for his boxes after the Minnesota State Fair was canceled earlier this year. The boxes in his home state sold out in 24 hours. He wanted to see if he could do the same thing in Texas since it has the largest state fair in the country.

For $59, Texas boxes will include:

  • 1 pound of funnel cake mix.
  • 1 2-pound turkey leg.
  • 1.5 dozen of fried oreos.
  • 1 pound of fried okra and cream gravy.
  • 1.5 pounds of curly fries.
  • 5 corn dogs.

Zamansky says he hopes to sell 25,000 boxes.
