This year's World Series will most likely be played in Arlington's Globe Life Field, home of the Texas Rangers.
Multiple outlets that first reported the news on Wednesday afternoon cited anonymous sources within Major League Baseball, but Texas Gov. Greg Abbott retweeted a Bloomberg article later that evening.
Under these plans, only the first round of the MLB playoffs will be played at participating teams' stadiums around the country. The remainder of the playoffs will be played at four ballparks to reduce the risk of spreading COVID-19.
Asides from Arlington, the other proposed sites are Minute Maid Park in Houston, Dodger Stadium in Los Angeles, and Petco Park in San Diego. National League teams will travel to California and American League teams will play in Texas so that no team plays on their home field.
There's still a lot of questions about what's included in the plans, like if players' families will be allowed, or what will happen if the pandemic gets better or worse.
No one knows if baseball fans will even be allowed to attend playoff games or the World Series. The Rangers have yet to play in front of real-life fans at Globe Life Field, which became their new home field this year.
The league hopes to have the playoffs start on September 29. A possible game 7 of the championship series would be October 29.
