Days after introducing new items to its menu nationwide, Chick-fil-A announced it is testing out a new sandwich at select locations in North and South Carolina.
The Honey Pepper Pimento Cheese is a sweet and spicy southern take on the restaurant's original chicken sandwich. The fast-food chain's famous filet is drizzled with honey, topped with pimento cheese, and served on a bun with pickled jalapeños.
A statement from a public relations agency working with Chick-fil-A said the sandwich is currently only being offered in Asheville, North Carolina and some locations in northern South Carolina, Fox 8 reports.
"Customer feedback will help us determine if it will be offered at additional restaurants in the future," said Brent Reams of Jackson Spalding.
Chick-fil-A introduced three new items to its nationwide menu on September 14: Mocha Creme Cold Brew, THRIVE Famers Hot Coffee, and Chocolate Fudge Brownie. The coffee and brownie will be available year-round, but the cold brew is a seasonal item only at the restaurant for a limited time.
"We are always looking to add fun and flavorful offerings to our menu, and these new dessert and snack options make perfect additions as we enter the fall season," said Leslie Neslage, director of menu and packaging at Chick-fil-A. "We received positive responses when we tested the Chocolate Fudge Brownie and Mocha Creme Cold Brew in select markets last year, and we hope our customers will be as excited as we are to have these sweet treats join our menu nationwide."
