Homestead Woman Attacks Daughter After Instagram Argument

A Homestead woman is facing charges after allegedly attacking her daughter for an argument about Instagram live videos, NBC Miami reported on Thursday (September 17).

On Tuesday (September 15), Yolanda Bell got into an argument with her two daughters at their Homestead residence for filming Instagram live videos, according to a police report.

The 40-year-old woman started attacking one of the girls when she refused to give up the phone, authorities reported.

"Bell allegedly pulled her hair, punched her in the face, bit her on her fingers, arm, neck and shoulder, and attempted to choke her," according to NBC Miami.

The police report said the girl threw the phone in the toilet. Officers added that Bell allegedly straddled the girl, but she was able to break free and run to a neighbor's house. The neighbor called authorities when he found the injured girl unconscious in the driveway.

NBC Miami said Bell was arrested and in custody at Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center. The 40-year-old told police she bit her daughter in self-defense but could not explain the girl's other injuries.

Bell was charged with child abuse and aggravated assault.
