Cowboys QB Dak Prescott Calls Decision In Breonna Taylor Case 'Disgusting'

Dallas Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott is one of the latest pro athletes to speak out against the decision in the Breonna Taylor case.

Taylor died on March 13 when Louisville police officers charged into her apartment at night while executing a warrant. Not knowing they were police officers, Taylor's boyfriend Kenneth Walker shot at the officers, which resulted in police firing back and killing Taylor.

A Louisville grand jury indicted one of the police officers involved in Taylor's fatal shooting on three charges of wanton endangerment on Wednesday. The grand jury also found two of the officers involved justified in their use of force in the March raid.

“That’s disgusting. I don’t understand that one at all," said Prescott on Thursday. "There’s a lot of things in this country that I don’t understand that we’re looking at right now. It’s about us to educate ourselves, going out to vote, educated on who we’re voting for and what they’re going to do when they’re in office.”

Wide receiver Amari Cooper also expressed his disappointment in the grand jury's decision.

“It is definitely something that has been on my heart and crossed my mind. To reiterate things I have been seeing (in) the media, I am not surprised by the verdict. It has been happening over and over. My heart goes out to her and her family," Cooper told the Dallas Morning News.

Prescott has been vocal about using his platform and fame for social justice, and has taken action when the Cowboys have stayed silent as an organization. After George Floyd's death in June, Prescott announced on Instagram that he would be donating $1 million to address systemic racism in policing.
