Man Leads Authorities On Chase Through Broward, Miami-Dade Counties

A suspect is in custody after leading authorities on a high-speed, cross-county chase across South Florida, according to NBC Miami on Thursday (September 24).

On Wednesday (September 23), Broward Sheriff's Office deputies responded to the area of South State Road 7 and Kimberly Boulevard in Fo Lauderdale about a confrontation between two drivers.

Officials said 24-year-old Kesly Altidor is accused of shooting at the other driver during the argument. Authorities said the driver was not hurt.

"Deputies pursued the shooter, who was seen traveling at high speeds and weaving in and out of traffic on the Florida's Turnpike southbound from Broward into Miami-Dade," NBC Miami reported.

The station also captured video from their chopper, which shows a silver Mercedes Benz barreling down the roads during rush hour.

Later on in the footage, it shows Altidor pulling over and getting out the vehicle with his hands up. The shooter surrendered to deputies near the Okeechobee Road Turnpike exit.

Altidor was surrounded by authorities as he was taken into custody.

The 24-year-old was charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and fleeing and eluding on Thursday. He has a $65,000 and is wearing a GPS ankle monitor.
