Memphis Man Arrested For Assaulting Someone With A Meat Tenderizer

Memphis police have arrested Hareth Saleh for the second time in a week in connection to an alleged attack with a meat tenderizer.

On September 14, police responded to an incident at a gas station on Lamar Avenue where they talked to a man who alleged Saleh locked him and other customers inside the store and attacked him with a meat tenderizer, WREG reports.

When the victim tried to exchange a broken cigarette lighter, Saleh became upset, the victim alleges. They began fighting and Saleh grabbed a meat tenderizer and started hitting the victim, who tried protecting himself. Saleh ended up letting the other customers leave before allegedly chasing the victim some more and eventually allowed him to leave too. The victim, who didn't want to be identified, was not seriously hurt, but did receive some injuries and have to miss a few days of work.

When police returned to see video of the event from the store's security cameras, the footage had been erased. What they did find was Saleh interfering with the DVR system after police left the initial incident, according to WREG.

At the time of the attack, Saleh was arrested and charged with false imprisonment, especially aggravated kidnapping, and aggravated assault. On Monday, he was also charged with tampering with evidence.
