Nobu, Sushi Chain Backed By Robert De Niro, Slated To Open In Chicago

Several years in the making, the sushi restaurant that Robert De Niro invested in is finally opening in Chicago this week.

Nobu is finally slated to open Thursday (October 1), following several rescheduled opening dates over the years. De Niro invested in the chain and traveled to Chicago for the groundbreaking in 2016. The restaurant will open in the Nobu Hotel, which opened its rooftop bar in July, Eater Chicago reported Monday (September 28).

“True culinary immersion and delight awaits- whether you dine with us at our signature Nobu restaurant on the ground floor, at the Sushi Bar under the mezzanine level, The Rooftop at Nobu Hotel Chicago nestled into Chicago’s skyline, or take advantage of in-room dining,” Nobu Hotel Chicago states. It adds of the hotel: "Stunning architecture and 115 rooms and suites seamlessly blend old-world Japanese influences with ultra-modern design. A state-of-the-art fitness center, and an indoor Serenity Pool await you. For private social functions and corporate events, ample multi-use suite and ballroom spaces offer magnificent views of the Chicago skyline. Be ready to indulge your senses at Nobu Chicago and enjoy the scene at The Rooftop at Nobu Hotel Chicago, complete with an indoor lounge and outdoor terrace looking out onto one of the city’s most happening places, 'Restaurant Row.'"

There are more than 40 Nobu locations worldwide, and the Chicago location brings the restaurant into the Midwest.
