Mac Miller's legacy lives on.
Two years since his untimely death, the late rapper's estate has announced a new Swimming in Circles vinyl box set, which will see his final two studio albums bundled together into one deluxe release. It will also include a 12" by 12" booklet featuring photos from the making of the projects, a poster and a 6-panel lyric scroll. The box set, which is available for pre-order, will be released December 18 via Warner Records.
"We are proud to present the Swimming In Circles box set: a presentation of the two albums Malcolm always saw as a fully-realized, dual body of work," the rapper’s family said in a statement. "It includes the music, as well as images of Malcolm taken all over the world by those closest to him as he recorded the albums—memories of him we will forever hold dearly."
To share the big news, Miller's estate also unveiled a three-minute video chronicling his recording sessions in Hawaii. Putting his personality on display, the star is seen goofing off in the studio as he works his way through recording. "There's no point in just locking yourself up anymore, bro. The world, there's too much sh*t to see," he says on the phone during the montage of clips. "The working title right now is Circles, but I don't know, it just kind of feels good, kind of comforting in this weird way."
The posthumous release will follow the singular release of Circles, which dropped in January with the help of his collaborator Jon Brion. Miller died on September 7, 2018 from an accidental drug overdose. He was 26.
