Former NBA star Delonte West looks like a new person after Dallas Mavericks owner Mark Cuban helped get him into rehab last month.
Cuban posted a new photo of West on his Twitter account Friday, and West does not look like the man begging on the streets of Dallas last month. West is reportedly doing fine after Cuban helped check him into a facility in Florida and reconnecting with his mother, according to Shams Charania of The Athletic.
Cuban deserves major kudos for helping out one of his ex-players when he was down on his luck. The Dallas billionaire picked West up last week outside of a convenience store after photos and videos of West asking for money on a Dallas street corner went viral.
After the photos surfaced, Doc Rivers, former teammates, and the National Basketball Players Association tried to get in touch with West for months but had no luck, according to TMZ. West started his career in 2004 playing for the Boston Celtics under Rivers.
West has had issues with his mental health since his playing days. He was taking medication and going to therapy for depression and bipolar disorder when he was with the Cleveland Cavaliers in 2008. He previously opened up to the Washington Post about how his mental health has impacted his career and life. Since he has left the NBA, multiple photos of West on the streets have appeared online.
