Knaus Berry Farm Set To Reopen By End Of October

Craving sticky buns and strawberry milkshakes? Knaus Berry Farm will be opening its doors again on October 27 in an Instagram post, according to Miami Herald on Wednesday (October 7). Located on Southwest 248th Street, the farm has been in operation since 1956. Owner Thomas Blocher made the decision to close the farm earlier this year as the coronavirus pandemic afflicted the nation. Knaus Berry Farm usually operates from late October through the third week of April; they're closed during the summer and on a few holidays, including Thanksgiving Day, Christmas and New Year's Day.

“It just seems like the socially responsible thing to do,” the farm owners said in a March social media post. “Be smart, be safe and don’t forget to wash your hands!”

Now that the farm is set to reopen, Blocher told the Miami Herald customers must wear masks inside the cash-only general store and practice social distancing while waiting in lines. “We’ve got a lot of great customers and they understand the situation,” Blocher said. To keep crowds moving, the farm owner said there will be limited products available to buy for at least the first few weeks. The cinnamon rolls and shakes will be sticking around, but there will be less variety of pies and no bread loaves. Miami Herald said cinnamon rolls cost $1.10 a piece, $5.50 a half dozen, $10.25 a dozen.
