Texas Traffic Stop Leads To Massive Drug Bust Valued At Half A Million

A Texas traffic stop led to a massive drug bust of 30 pounds of illegal Alprazolam, more commonly known as Generic Xanax, worth a whopping half million dollars near the western edge of Houston in Fort Bend County.

This took place just before noon on Tuesday morning.

The buckets of pills have a street value of anywhere between $516,000 and $645,000.

A Fulshear City Police officer pulled over a car with two men after the driver failed to stop at a stop sign within the Cross Creek Ranch Master Planned community near Campbell Elementary School.

During the encounter with the two men, the police officer determined probable cause and called for back-up so he could safely search the car, CBS DFW reports.

The search led to the massive drug bust with the discovery of two buckets full of the illegal substances.

Both men were arrested and charged with possession of a controlled substance with the intent to deliver in a drug-free zone. This was due to the close proximity of the nearby elementary school.

According to police, neither of the men lived in the Houston area.
