A Scottsdale man is out of a job after a video of him harassing a Black man and calling himself a racist went viral over the weekend.
Andre Abram and a friend were in Old Town Scottsdale on Saturday when Paul Ng approached the men and asked them why they were taking photos. Abram was preparing to shoot a video for the Youtube channel he manages under the name LilAJDre.
Abram uploaded the video of the interaction to his Instagram where it has been seen more than 230,000 times.
On the video, Ng continues to ask Abram what his business is and says he's asking because "we've had problems here."
Abram asks Ng "Do you know a lot of white men are doing racist things in this world, sir?"
"I am a racist," Ng responds.
He goes on to say that the area is a "no (n-word) zone" before Abram asks Ng to back up.
**The video below contains strong language.**
"I would say my first response was shock. I was in disbelief that I was hearing the words that I was actually hearing. It was a moment that really boggled my mind — and it still does even to this moment," Abram said in an interview with the Arizona Republic.
Scottsdale Police later stopped at Ng's home to ask him about what happened. Records obtained by the newspaper show that Ng didn't see that what he said to Abram was harmful and inflammatory.
Police arrested and booked Ng on two counts of disorderly conduct.
Ng was fired from his job as a realtor at Russ Lyon Sotheby's Real Estate Agency and had his real estate license revoked, 12 News reported.
"I want him prosecuted to the furthest extent. I feel like this is a huge example," Abram told the TV station.
The store that the confrontation happened in front of is dealing with fallout from the video. Abram mistakenly said Ng worked at River Trading Post in the viral video. Ng owns the condo above the store but isn't associated with the business, River Trading Post manager Kathi Ouellet told media outlets. Ouellet has been receiving threats since the video went viral.
