The Miami International Boat Show has been canceled after a "thorough analysis of the local market and safety-first principles," according to organizers. It was going to be held from February 11 to 15, 2021. The next one will be at the Miami Marine Stadium from February 17 to 21, 2022.
Organizers made the announcement on the Boat Show's website with this statement: "The health and safety of everyone involved in producing, attending and exhibiting at our shows is of utmost importance. Following a thorough analysis of the local market and our safety-first principles, we have decided to cancel this year’s 2021 Progressive Insurance Miami International Boat Show... We hope to see you in 2022, when we return to Miami Marine Stadium."
The Boat Show wasn't the only upcoming event to get canceled during the coronavirus pandemic. The 2021 Miami Marathon was also cancelled; like the Boat Show organizers, they also plan to resume their annual event in 2022.
Even though the Boat Show is canceled, some annual activities and events will or have resumed in South Florida. Knaus Berry Farm reopened to the public last week. The Fort Lauderdale Air Show will return this month after being delayed by the pandemic. Air show organizers are also encouraging people to watch the event on boats if possible.
