How Many Ballots Still Have To Be Counted In Maricopa County?

The 2020 presidential election in full swing and the race to 270 is still taking place.

Ballots across the state were still being counted, as of early Wednesday morning in Maricopa County.

As of 6:30 a.m. on Wednesday, Maricopa County Election officials stated that all of the in-person votes that took place across the 175 polling locations in the county had been counted. AZ Family reported that more than 167,000 Maricopa County voters reportedly cast a ballot in-person on Election Day.

Maricopa County recorder Adrian Fontes stated on Tuesday, "These things take time. We want to get them done right... not fast. We had probably a couple hundred thousand ballots show up form our early voters [Tuesday]. We've got to signature verify those, process all of those, and then tabulate them. That's gonna take a little time."

There were still 250,000 early ballots that needed to be counted as of this morning, as well as the ballots that were dropped off on Election Day. All of these ballots will be counted throughout the day on Wednesday.

The first set of results from all of these ballots is expected to be released on Wednesday evening at 7 p.m.

According to Fontes, we will most likely not have official results "for several days." He stated, "But we will have solid results when we do get them."
