Thousands of Harley-Davidson motorcycle riders and fans are expected to take part in a three-day Great Lakes Harley Owners Group rally over the summer.
The rally, along with a parade and block party, is slated for the Upper Peninsula — around Escanaba, in Delta County — from July 22-24. Planning started at the U.P. State Fairgrounds last week, according to the Associated Press.
When the three-day event happens, it’ll be more than a decade since Harley-Davidson riders rallied together in Escabana. The last time was in 2010, AP reported Sunday (November 8).
“You are invited to join us in the Michigan's beautiful UP, EH! It is home to hundreds of miles of shoreline riding and some of the best Pasties your taste buds will ever experience," the Facebook event reads. "We are headed to some of the most picturesque riding you will ever see. There is a reason the UP of Michigan is known as God's Country. So come and judge for yourself and meet other H.O.G. Members from across the Country.”
Recently, Harley-Davidson announced its first electric bike, the Serial 1, a nod to the company’s first motorcycle in 1903. It’s expected to be available next spring.
