Las Vegas Rescue Mission Giving Away Turkeys At Drive-Thru Event

Thanksgiving is just a couple of weeks away and the Las Vegas Rescue Mission is working on making the holiday a little tastier for some families in need.

A news release stated that the organization will be giving away 2,500 turkeys with trimmings that will be available on a first-come first-serve basis.

The event will be drive-thru, allowing for safety during the global pandemic. It will take place on Thursday, November 12th and Saturday, November 14th from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. It is completely open to the public, and it will be located at the Las Vegas Rescue Mission at 480 W. Bonanza Road.

Fox 5 reported that families will only be able to drive through once to ensure that more families are able to be fed.

The giveaway will include:

  • One 8-10 lb turkey
  • a turkey pan
  • mashed potato mix
  • a box of stuffing
  • canned corn
  • gravy
  • peas/green beans

Heather Engle, CEO of the Las Vegas Rescue Mission stated, "We are so blessed to be able to provide turkeys and trimmings to individuals and families who are most in need this holiday season. At the Las Vegas Rescue Mission, we will always do our best to provide hope and care to warm the hearts of our most vulnerable community members."
