Ironically named Giggles, a cat at an Ohio rescue organization went viral for his unusual facial expression.
But Riggi Rescue explained, “Giggles is not mad.”
That’s just his permanent face.
Since sharing pictures of the angry-looking — yet “very happy” — cat on its Facebook page on Saturday (November 7), Giggles has gotten more than 6,800 reactions and more than 14,000 shares.
“He is the SWEETEST BOY! WE LOVE HIM!” Riggi Rescue said in the Facebook post. “Giggles was roaming the streets for some time before being picked up by a good samaritan and brought to us. He had many ticks, wasn't neutered and had a bite wound on his neck from a cat fight. He's just one of so many needing our help!”
More than 55 donors raised more than $1,200 for Riggi Rescue as of Wednesday afternoon (November 11).
Riggi Rescue is a volunteer-driven nonprofit organization in Streetsboro aiming to help mistreated and abandoned animals and find them loving homes.
Giggles was adopted into a new home this week, and he'll continue to work with the organization as a social media ambassador, according to Riggi Rescue.
There are still plenty of animals looking for good homes. The adoption process might take some time, the organization noted, as homes and potential adopters are screened before the meet-and-greet with the animal.
“Our goal is always finding the best home to fit each cat we are honored to assist,” according to Riggi Rescue.
