Little Big Town helped remember the late Kenny Rogers with a heartfelt performance during the 2020 CMA Awards. The band took the stage at the annual awards show to perform Rogers' "Sweet Music Man."
Before the performance, Rogers' team tweeted from his account while encouraging fans to tune in, "Kenny loved their music, amazing harmonies & how friendly they always were to him."
Rogers passed away earlier this year in March at 81 years old of natural causes.
After Kenny's passing, the Country Music Association said in a statement, "Country Music has lost the great Kenny Rogers, who has forever left a mark on Country Music's history. His family and friends are in our thoughts during this difficult time."
Little Big Town added as they reacted to the star's passing, "Kenny, there will never be another like you. Thank you for the music."
This isn't the first time LBT has paid tribute to Kenny Rogers. In 2017 at the "All in for the Gambler: Kenny Rogers’ Farewell Concert Celebration" tribute in Nashville, the band performed "Through the Years."
And in a Kenny Rogers biography, Little Big Town's Karen Fairchild explained of the late country star's influence, "He's done everything. And then to go on and be entertainer of the year and to be on pop radio. I mean, he really made us all so proud and country music. He was like the shining light of all the things we could become."
